Is it safe to interact with PT replacements?

So, I know we can never, ever interact with the original pollination tech, because he technically doesn't exist, has no character file and will cause game corruption...

but what about PT replacements? Don't they have a character file, either? Can I safely summon my PT DR and have tea with him or something? I googled, but found nothing on the topic. Any idea?
