"David?!"

His head jerked up so fast, his neck hurt, eyes following the direction of the voice he loved so dearly.

"David!!"

You came in like the perfect storm, eyes blazing in worry - running towards him and Asher at almost full speed. He barely had time to notice how nice you looked, swaddled in the jacket that he'd left behind.

Instead focusing on the relief that pulled at his frayed edges, soothing his turmoil and distracting him from the pain.

"Darlin -" He weak call is cut when your body quite nearly collided with his, finger scrabbling at his bloodied shirt. "Fuck, I -"

He choked on a sob as your warm arms curled around him, barely breathing as you - usually so rough and brusque - laid small kisses across his face. Leaving him melting into the warmth and affection you doled out.

"I'm so happy to see you," His voice was hoarse, wobbly "I - I just got you back and - and if I never saw you again I  "

You shushed him softly, stroking his tears away with an almost uncharacteristic croon. "I know, I know, baby."

David squeezed you against him, reveling in the mixing of scents that overpowered the blood clinging to his body. Eyes shutting tight as soft sobs shook his tired body, sinking against you and just allowing you to hold him together. He can distinctly hear Asher cry as well, his own mate fussing over him.

Your lips press against his and everything falls off his back for a moment.

He mumbled against your mouth, gripping at you, “Where’s Angel?”

“Went to look for Sam,” You sigh shakily “we should get you to a healer.”

“Davey!”

His head tilted to look again, seeing your other partners still clinging to one another but making their way over. Sam was weary, tears in his tired eyes but managed a trembling smile at you both.

Angel also slammed into David’s side, swinging soft arms around his neck and also starting to pepper him in tearful kisses. Something heavy lifted from his chest at being able to hold all three of you again.

mmm, okay so our resident sadism demon let Caelum go after observing him for a moment and was curious to see where he'd go after kind of scaring him off

imagine his surprise when the soft, overwhelmed, little puffball rushed straight to see you; a pretty freelancer that so delicately took him in your arms

of course, Vega was intrigued, especially as he could feel the traces of another d(a)emon lingering

what made them drawn to you??

as he lingered, watching and waiting from afar

witnessing Gavin, pompous but protective, wrapping you in an intimate embrace that he'd considered almost... sentimental...

slowly, he got it

you weren't particularly powerful by any means, but your control over your abilities were remarkable - with a healthy amount of emotional intelligence to gently work past the walls of an intense fire elemental and even making the likes of Gavin fall in love with you

Vega didn't believe he could feel past sadistic glee or curiosity; but the realization of his feelings was somewhat enough for him to sort of think

he also found himself intrigued at this new look into Gavin

speaking of whom - noticed Vega the entire time though, surprised him when the incubus in question had confronted him

and of course, said incubus would notice the feelings that lingered on him for you

... after a good back and forth chat, full of thinly veiled threats and a tense stand off... Vega agreed to allow Ivan and his captive from under his control

unfortunately, he'd be on monitor from the Department for a bit but as they could see some rehabilitation potential in him - it was enough for him to be remain free

coincidentally under the watchful eye of you and Gavin

it'd taken a good bit for you to relax around him; but as he finally got to see you up close and spend time with you without being hidden...

does something to his, believed to be, long dead heart to experience the warmth and kindness and trust that he’d observed

you're so gentle and helpful, there is just the slow growing need to protect you from all bad things

even if he was apart of those bad things... Vega is still pretty selfish

especially when it comes to you and Gavin, a full bodied possessiveness that extends to the people that make you happy

imagine your friends' surprise when you tell them you have not only one but two demon boyfriends

there is just an eventual running thing where if Gavin can't get Vega to do something, he asks you to take care him

with a glare at the incubus, he'll then proceed to do it just because you asked him and looked at him with your pretty eyes

they can't seem to stand each other sometimes

but you will see them making out or Gavin holding Vega

congrats, Freelancer, you now have two immensely powerful demons that are deeply in love with you

He's possessive, what can he say?

No one harms what belongs to him.

You and Gavin are his.

While he could get a full bodied meal from feeding off of him... There is only a full-bodied fury that overcame him after you told him about that wet bitch.

You just watched his face turn into one of wrath, gritting his teeth as his tail lashed against the couch. But it only takes your big, watery eyes to make him set aside his fury for the time being. He begrudgingly does agree as D. U. M. P. is still watching him like a hawk... He wouldn't want to be removed from your or Gavin's sides and force you both to have to visit him at a facility.

Make no mistake though, Kody's days were numbered. As long as Vega was latched by the arrest clause, he's under the microscope.

When he finds out that Kody is there during the games, he has half a mind to hunt him down and give him a friendly little warning. Maybe some broken bones?

There wasn’t much time for him to think much about him once that portal cracked open and in came those shades...

Vega was used to feeling the emotions of fear, horror, and helplessness. It came with the type of people he’d feed on, often in those that are unfortunate to be on the end of that. But the utter panic and volume of all those feelings had him buckling - doubly as he feels them resonate within you, within Gavin.

It was their dual effort to pump out a ward twice as strong and twice as large, your presence like a true latch.

He didn’t care much for Xavier either... But you did.

Watching humans die was nothing new to him, he has long outlived many. Likely even falling to his hands at some point or other.

But he loved you.

Loved Gavin.

You both were his.

So that meant loving your friends.

Meant that they were his too.

Meant loving your shared of love of life.

And he protects the things that belong to him.

He holds a lot better than Gavin in the interim, strengthening the ward when he weakens.

After it all, he held every single one of you above water. Aiding in grief. Comforting the soft, gentle creatures that melted his heart of ice...

If he can help it, nothing will harm any of you again.

... Oh and he does meet Kody.

Not directly.

It was a given, the little parasite couldn’t even admit to himself that he’d been drawn in by your light - whether he deserved bask in your presence was debatable. So it’s a small bit of interference on his part to keep you from even knowing he was in the same space.

Vega promised you there would be no violence, not after Damien laid the fucker flat. Not while the Department was still so weary of him; double after the sudden suspicion tossed on all of d(a)emon kind...

So instead, he haunts the edges of shadows in Kody’s vision. In the deepest parts of his brain, in cold-sweat causing nightmares that set him awake at the most ungodly of hours.

A seizing, reeling terror that he now associates... With you.

it is no contest that you and Asher sleep in the middle, he curls up into a lil' ball with his face buried on your chest - Davey is usually resting against your back while Milo is against Ash's

Aggro will either pick to sleep at the end of the bed or drape himself over you specifically, David says it's because you're a walking space heater

he's your baby though honestly - he is fully aware how cute he is and will absolutely soak up your attention and do so often

Milo and Asher are your number one hypemen btw, like, you wanna gun for something; they're going to back you up so hard

Davey is equally supportive, though they just happen to be much louder than him about it

mmm, also if any of the others happen to walk in on during a sweet moment with one of them - they probably just kinda watch for a lil before eventually joining

Ash describes you a lot like glue - while the three of them are linked, notched in each other... you hold them all together while also strengthening their bond

a comparison both David and Milo are more than happy to agree with

especially as you managed to make them open up more; Davey about his loss, Asher about his position as beta, Milo about his insecurities

... you truly are a rock, grounding them amidst the things that caused them pain

but while they do lean on you, you also teach them they can learn on each other too

they love you so much, presences full and warm and intrinsic in the life you'd made together

the house you all chose is much bigger, ready to fill with memories

your summer solstices are all somewhat painful, but Asher and Milo push you and David to rest during this space in time - pulling the responsibilities away to allow you both to rest

all of them are worry warts when it comes to your work, especially if you're out in the field as often as you were

... Asher also buffered the fight that came of your calls to your ex, decidedly admitting that he'd been listening in because he was just worried at you upset you had been

the highs and lows with them are intense, being as the three are all so passionate and feel so much

Quinn's time existence would likely decrease if he ever hurt you, while not only are you strong and heavily involved with the department actively hunting for him - your boys altogether are a force to be reckoned with

if he's not between Darlin's teeth, then it's likely his life would be cut at the rest of the pack's insistence

Davey isn't so keen to allow him to hurt anyone else he cares for, especially his mates

the rest of the pack adore you as well, hovering protectively over such a beloved member

the three are also a united front against anyone that could cause you grief, from familial troubles to thunder and lightning...

Loving Asher is like seeing a lighthouse in the midst of a dark storm, guiding you from roaring, unyielding waters to the safety of shore

Loving Milo is akin to looking to the sky to watch fireworks, feeling it's energy and the excitement it brings buzz through you as they fill the sky - something you'd never stop being awed by

Loving Davey is like finding a spot of warmth in the middle of a raging storm, high walls protecting you from the winds, shielding you from an icy front

there is only contentment, a soothing realization of that there is nothing else you could need

never loveless, never lonely or hungry

quietly, one night tangled in limbs and soft sheets, you lay awake as you hold David to your chest, Asher snoring softly against your head - Milo curled against your side

you whisper a prayer, a promise, to Gabe that night

that they have grown into fine young men, that Davey is the best alpha with beloved beta and mates- that he would be so proud to see them all

This actually airs on the softer side - probably because I’m a bit sleepy.

when you joined the fray, so to speak, they were already together - so were weary of this fourth coming to chat up Milo

who was only slightly colder to the pretty, sweet stealth that was worried enough to come check on him again and offer protection...

like he needed it because of David's constant hovering - but it was touching nonetheless

it's not too surprising that he warmed up to you first

Milo is mostly possessive, most of his levels are low but are amplified when he's with the other two - he's also not really aware of the darker parts of him since with how mild he is... he doesn't even notice it's there

but he has David to sort of help him stick a leash(heh), on them so it's not too prevalent

he's generally his same snarky, sassy self, still as thoughtful and attentive as we know him to be

his targets are specifically those that would make it a lot easier on you if they disappeared, he does have it in him to maim (as we nearly saw with the shade, whom he was ready to kill)

Asher on the other hand, is an obsessive worshipper with barely any self-awareness - needs to kinda be reminded and reminded often to keep it down low

with how bright and sweet and warm he is, you would have no possible idea what kind of thoughts swim in his head

and if David could help it, you'd remain completely oblivious to them

admires you so much for all the hard work to you and will absolutely exaggerate you accomplishments, acting as if you do all of them the best and can do no wrong

a lot of angelic comparisons, especially when David starts calling you angel

he actually doesn't like a lot of the pack being closer to you, being as they're all pretty great people and the idea in the back of his head that you could potentially leave them strikes him the most

while he trusts you, he does not trust them and his notably really weary of Christian in particular (probably because the guy spends a lot of time kissing your ass)

other than that, he doesn't think about killing people - more hurting them than anything as his internal level of violence is low in comparison to Milo or David

who he spends a lot of time reasoning with so they don't go off and murder anybody despite them likely being able to get rid of them

alright, as a stealth/empowered human, they're still protective of you but more so that you work at the Department as a detective on the front lines

none of them are willing to tie you down and restrict your freedom like that so they endure it and try to be there for you during the trials and tribulations of your taxing job

not to mention your penchant to overwork yourself

yeah nah, it will not fly with any of them and this particular thing amplifies them to a further degree

David will physically will remove you from the home office and dump you in a cuddle pile with Ash and Milo - leaving you unable to move by setting Aggro on top of you

Ash, will tease you, neck kisses and whispering little things in your ears and if all else fails - will just shut your laptop

Milo might threaten to unplug the router and or sic Aggro to step all over your desk and distract you

but they do all these things because they worry about you and want you to be able to also take it easy and spend time with them

... it is likely Davey had been tempted on more than one occasion to march straight into the Department and give your superiors an earful for the treatment you receive; he is less hesitant in throwing the packs' name around when it comes to these situations

he also handled Milo and Asher's respective situations differently, being as he is their mate, he is much more protective

and not as willing to allow slights from other pack members to go unchecked

they all have seriously considered getting rid of Christian exactly once and how they would do it but ultimately left it as is

Asher gets your work friends/colleagues guards down with how friendly is specifically to gauge their intentions

less willing to break laws this time around because since /you/ work for the Department

generally, they're pretty similar to the dynamic they normally share with you - with no sign to let you know anything was amiss

the people you dislike just keep their distance and have reached a good balance for work and spending time with the loves of your life

lately though, it seemed your mates were spending a lot more time together - they still make you feel included as possible

,,, but you know them all well enough to know they're hiding something

for now, you would not pry, even if you're a little concerned about how much longer you can wait

Spicy thought to start things out; Darlin' is know go be prideful and seen to be the serious type - one par with David... He goes on a motherfucking power trip when they submit to him, the only thing out of their foul mouth is the desperate croons of his name interspersed with "alpha".

Angel is baby and being a mate to a protective alpha is one thing, being a mate to two werewolves and a vamp is a whole other animal

... Not Angel being a brat toward all three of them, fully aware that they're gonna have to deal with 3x the punishment

Darling's presence making Davey more comfortable with being in his shifted form more often

Sam and Angel walking in on the other two holding one another often, mostly Davey trying to make up for the earlier years of Darlin' feeling isolated

Davey and Darlin' living with literal years worth on unspoken emotions by the time Angel entered the picture

Sam seeing how deeply they feel for David and Angel but is unable to feel any jealousy as they clearly are important to his poor, hurt Tank-wolf... He took it upon himself to talk to Angel about their wolves as neither were willing to step up about it

But I think I’ll dive into a sort of specifics of how Gavin changes the dynamic!

Gender Neutral! Reader + Reader is Freelancer

Soft Yandere! Poly! D. A. M. N. + Gavin

Gavin is almost upsettingly good at keeping them on a leash, especially hiding their tendencies more efficiently and making sure Caelum doesn’t grow an awareness of these specific feelings

while he adores the empathy daemon more than words can say, he doesn’t want him privy to the intensity that was him and the D. A. M. N. boys

there is a bit of guilt in him for doing so but decidedly believes it was for the best

he loves his boys too

Dami is glad to have another channel to aid in keeping the ever-so sporadic Lasko and the surprisingly intense Hux from doing anything rash, and keeping himself from committing a genuine crime

our dear incubus’s edition to the polycule meant that you wouldn’t even notice any of them possibly hiding anything from you

it’s sort of a perfect storm, sans the water

... speaking of water

Kody’s survival rate in this route is significantly lower and interestingly that is because of the emotions Gavin is enshrouded in

specifically, Damien’s immense animosity and fiery blooded want for retribution

and a rather rough feeling surrounding you when the subject of bridging came to mind

it is likely any bad dreams Kody is having grow worse after this

the only thing that holds him back is the possibility of his friends at D. U. M. P. getting involved and finding him like that, as he has motive and doesn’t want any heat on any of you either

but anyhow, it is an understanding that he will deal with a murder any of the others commit and get it as far away from you all as possible though

ooh and he kinda gets Damien to be a little better with you having other friends, mostly as he reasoned that there were no genuine threats among them and Gavin himself would make sure of that

Lasko is also way more at ease, especially with how easily Gavin guides him and help him deal with his scattered thoughts and feelings and makes him behave much more calmly when it comes to his darker tendencies

he also helps Lasko with dealing with assholes through the academic system

Hux is about the same and much more mellow, his threatening demeanor is usually dismissed but Gav usually also helps in the sense that some of them would end up forgetting about it

but would leave a little bit of the fear/uncertainty in messing with you again

the entirety of D. A. M. N. would feel the wrath of suns if anything were to happen to you

you’re as happy as happy can be among your boys, spending time individually and then as a whole

they don’t have any plans to isolate you or nothing either, despite how collectively possessive they could be

but the love you and trust you and the knowledge that Gavin can keep an eye on you certainly helps them all kind of wane off their darker tendencies

and that is exactly what Gavin was trying to do

sure, he does quite a bit of work, but it he feels better in the sense that it is genuinely for the sake of everyone’s happiness

... he loves all of you after all

honestly, if being a humanborn freelancer already made you feel like somewhat of an outcast but also possessing wings??

not to mention people not understanding boundaries and trying to just... touch you?

thankfully, there was a way for you to just put them away shortly after they’d first appeared

it’s rough for you for the early years of your life though, hiding your powers and wings and trying to stay out of the air despite every single instinct within you to break free and just fly away

... you thank Caelum for almost everything, especially as he reteaches you to love all your gifts

the boys don’t find about your wings right away as there really wasn’t a point where you felt like it was necessary to tell them but eventually the mention of winged people came up

you’re pretty nervous about it initially but it’s stifled by the fact they loved you so much despite learning about everything else... you reasoned this one thing wouldn’t have changed anything

and you were absolutely right

they were amazed more than anything

Huxley especially was all bright eyed and awed, fawning over how cool both you and they were

Lasko, with his own air affinity, found something else to sort of share with you despite it not exactly being the same thing

Damien... Damien gets you feather based products and aid in the up keep of your wings

flying with them...???

Hux is worried about being too heavy, he was a big guy after all and just fretting over your arms hurting and everything like that. Doesn’t really ask often because he’s worried about bothering you. Likes the nice feeling of being up in the sky.

Las is so nice to fly with especially when the both you work together to just glide on the breeze, he asks often on bad days since the feeling is so soothing for him... It is truly the both of you in your element

Dami doesn’t like being high up... It’s like the loss of control of being up in the sky?? But surprisingly, in your arms, he feels very secure??? He still prefers to watch you fly though
