inside ex situationship!matt & ex situationship!reader aka darlin’s shared digital camera

in which we delve into the stories behind each picture on their camera, some secretive and dirty, others simple and clean, and some are in between and just the tiniest bit flirty.

i know the title says darlin and matt’s shared camera, but everyone in their friend group has access to the camera, however there is one rule, no one is allowed to scroll through the pictures until the card is full or darlin and matt have uploaded their nudes and dirty pics to their separate drive.

picture one: matt had taken this while in vegas and immediately uploaded it to their shared photo hard drive of all the pictures they take on the camera, and while this one had been posted publicly, the pictures that followed weren’t. the next slew of pictures consisted of close up and blurry shots of his cock, angry, red and shiny with precum, which led to an intense phone sex session with darlin.

picture two: this picture was taken by darlin, she and matt were staying in a hotel in new york and wanted something to commemorate the trip that was safe to post online. however what happened in this picture was nothing short of filthy, they filmed their fourth sextape that night, it started with a slightly blurry side shot of darlin sprawled across the middle of the bed, back arched, matt’s arms wrapped tightly around her thighs, all while he ate her out like a man starved.

picture three: this again, was taken by darlin. she, matt, chris, and sugar had all taken a trip to hawaii while nick was on a getaway with his boyfriend. chris and sugar were drinking down by the beach when matt and darlin snuck back up to the room, she had taken this moments before matt pinned her against the wall and fucked her like her life depended on it.

picture four: this was taken by sugar. the group was stumbling through the streets of boston, tipsy from their drinks at dinner, and while darlin was talking with some girl from college that she had bumped into, sugar couldn’t help but notice how matt’s eyes never left darlin, even if he was cold and the tiniest bit annoyed with her.

picture five: during the group’s monthly game where the one person from the group will either make a bet or dare someone to do something or they have to pay the price of drinking what their opponent chooses for the rest of the night while bar hopping, matt had told darlin to flirt with the older men playing pool and attempt to steal their eight ball and dip before they notice. after a gruelling twenty minutes of charming her way into the older men’s vicinity, she managed to snatch the eight ball, boasting proudly to the camera before picking tequila shots, budlight, and the sugariest drinks on the menus for matt to drink for the rest of the night.

picture six: matt had captured this moment of sugar, darlin, and darlin’s friend while stumbling home, far too drunk to take a half decent snapshot. this picture is one that holds a special place in matt’s mind and heart, whether he’ll admit it or not. it was the moment that he began see darlin as something more than his fuck buddy or his situationship, in that moment, where she threw her head back laughing at something sugar said, he started to see darlin as someone important to him, someone who is more than just a body to keep him warm.

picture seven: the group had just finished a movie night when they all wanted ice cream, and chris being the cook he is, insisted on taking not only his girlfriend, but his best friend & brother out for the best ice cream known to mankind. sugar had, once again, taken a pic when matt noticed that darlin had wandered off and watched as she looked in the window of some small little antique shop. chris noticed darlin ripping her vape in between bites of ice cream and couldn’t help but be disgusted at the fact that she was “ruining the integrity of the ice cream.”

picture eight: darlin insists that she and matt weren’t on a date whenever someone mentions just how intimate the setting of this photo appears. the real story behind the picture doesn’t really do much to provide concrete evidence that they don’t have feelings for each other. darlin had wanted to try a new italian restaurant that had popped up not too far from her apartment complex and when she mentioned it, matt offered to go with her. when she laughed about how “date-like” the night felt, the picture above was matt’s response.

picture nine: this picture was taken by sugar, the group was out for lunch on one final outing before the holidays and family festivities or traditions began. darlin had just told the group that her and jayden were still messing around, and sugar had captured the exact moment darlin’s words registered in matt’s head. sugar and darlin find it hilarious, and matt keeps trying to delete it.

Words cannot express how much I love LOTR / TH romance and friendship. Like, it's so genuine, so pure and so devoted.

Take, for example, Arwen and Aragorn. He was willing to give up the woman he's loved for over 40 years because he naturally thought she'd be happier and safer in Valinor, with her family and loved ones. Meanwhile she was willing to give up her immortality, her father and everyone she knew and loved for him and their (future) son.

I know it's sort of on the nose, but it's selfless, timeless and it doesn't put personal interests or wellbeing above the other person's. And it's especially heartwarming knowing it came from a place of suffering and trauma — because there can always be light in darkness, we just need to look for it.

Darlin goes from wearing a leather biker jacket to one of Sam’s flannel jackets btw. Their eyes are softer btw.
