i'm pretty new to this fandom, but have people ever discussed the idea that they might be in an open relationship? i didn't know a ton about them when i first watched BIG, but that's how Dan's bit about DMs (in combination with the "soulmate" line) read to me. also, considering it's been ten years, and they were so young when they got together, it doesn't strain credulity that an open relationship, or at least trying one, might be something they would have discussed at some point, imo.
yes, people discussed it after BIG, for whatever reason. and no, i don't see it, they are pretty possessive, for one. and there are plenty other reasons why the chances are less than 1% for an open relationship.
