I feel like I can't explain why I love them so much without getting into spoilers for the final arc of the show and I don't want to spoil it but I will say that the level of devotion btwn Su Muyu and Su Changhe is like so far beyond anything else I've ever seen. and they love Hehuai just as much as they love each other and That Decision in the finale....... just. fuck!!! FUCK!!!!!!!!!! anyway post finale they are having a peaceful domestic life in Nan'an THAT'S CANON 😤
yuanyixiao aka Zhao Yuanzhou / Zhuo Yichen / Wen Xiao (Fangs of Fortune / 大梦归离) — I have... many complaints about the writing of this show but I'm not going to go on that rant rn lmao. love how they work best when it's the three of them bc they all understand each other in different ways: Zhuo Yichen and Wen Xiao helped each other heal when they were grieving, Wen Xiao is the only one who can ground Zhao Yuanzhou when the malignant energy takes over, Zhuo Yichen literally firsthand experiences what Zhao Yuanzhou has been through when he becomes demonized. they all have a piece of each other that no one else will experience <3
delvecho aka Maria DeLuca / Liz Ortecho / Max Evans (Roswell, New Mexico) — I hate that this ship literally completely consumed my brain for 5 years until yuanyixiao Cured™️me bc the writers fucking hated all three of them 😭😭😭 honestly very fitting that yuanyixiao pushed them out of my brain bc Liz / Max is very very similar to ZYZ / WX, like it's honestly uncanny how similar the storylines are. forever bitter about what became of this show bc the set up is literally that this is a scifi love story about Liz and Max and then that season 2 renewal was secured and the writers were like 'PSYCH fandom loves the poorly written m/m side ship so we're going to make the show center around them now' 🙄🙄🙄🙄 like cool thanks for taking away the latina lead and doing a complete character assassination and making her unrecognizable from her s1 self (also one of the actors in that m/m pairing lied about being indigenous and profited off that lie for TEN YEARS!!!!!! (which came out btwn s2 and s3!!!!! the show aired for 4 seasons btw) like as if the terrible writing for them wasn't enough of a turn off 🤮)

superbatlane aka Clark Kent / Bruce Wayne / Lois Lane (Zack Snyder's Superman trilogy) — love this version of Clark / Lois so so so so so much, truly invented action film romance 😌 Bruce totally fell in love with Clark after [redacted] and his determination to fix that mistake and bring him back like...... woah. also Zack Snyder apparently wanted to have Bruce and Lois be involved while Clark was out of the picture and god I am foaming at the mouth thinking about it!!!!
Mitsuda Takuzo / Yanoguchi Mia / Satomura Shinpei (Two Husbands, One Wife / 三人夫婦, overtly canon) — Mia and Shinpei's relationship is rocky and Mia wants to get married bc heteronormative expectations; upon her bringing up the subject to Shinpei, he's like "I would be interested if there was a third person" so then they propose the idea to Mia's ex 😂😂😂 it's hilarious and very sweet and another situation of they work best when it's all three of them as this post explains rlly well
Kieran / Ray / Gemma (Trigonometry BBC, overtly canon) — a couple decides to get a roommate to help pay for their rent and they quickly realize they're falling for her. very erotically charged, very hot. feels really grounded and real too as the sexual tension just keeps building until they give in and then they stumble their way into a functional rship
Annie Sawyer / John Mitchell / George Sands (Being Human BBC) — idk how to verbalize my feelings on these three. the flashback scene of how Mitchell and George met fucking destroys me every rewatch and knowing about that moment, it's so easy to understand why they mean so much to each other. and they clearly adore Annie so much and the way they get so protective over her and when they threaten Owen!!!!!!!!!!! and then the way that George *knew* that Mitchell was behind [redacted incident] and he still loved Mitchell even after that and Annie still loved him too upon learning about it although she couldn't accept it. don't talk to me about the season 3 finale I will never recover.
Imogen Adams / Tabby Haworthe / Christian Peele (Pretty Little Liars HBO) — ok Imogen and Christian barely interacted but Tabby / Imogen are soooooooooooooo girlfriends and Christian is a top tier boyfriend to Tabby I love him so so so so so much. honestly not my only polyam ship from the show either but I just finished a rewatch around New Years and they've become my fave since then. also I have an agenda to get more people to watch this show bc it's in my top 5 fave shows so: this is the best slasher of all time. I will not debate this. the show is so very very smart and constantly subverts racist and misogynistic tropes of the genre. an actual feminist take on the rape revenge subgenre. HBOMax I will never forgive you for cancelling this after two seasons 😡
George Fan / Ned Nickerson / Nancy Drew (Nancy Drew CW) — okay so honestly I didn't see the appeal of Nancy / Nick when I originally watched the first season bc I felt like Nancy treated him badly and didn't understand that that was due to her trauma re her mom's death so she honestly just irritated the hell out of me in the first season. (altho I did quickly start liking her after s1! and now I love her in s1 bc I understand it was intentional for her to grow later! I couldn't see that when I only had a small piece of the final product.) I now see the vision that the writers were going for before they abandoned Nancy / Nick to start pushing Nancy / Ace. sighs. Nick / George has been one of my all time ships since the show started teasing them starting to fall for each other, like they were so so so good and they grew so much together and helped each other through so many rough patches. and George's only relationship before Nick was her being groomed by a married man, so it was so beautiful to see her learn how relationships should feel and work on breaking her destructive habits and I'll never forgive the writers for breaking them up :( overall I do think the show is worth a watch though, just some writing decisions in s3 / s4 are m a d d e n i n g
Eric Foreman / Robert Chase / Remy Hadley (House M.D.) — Foreman and Remy were probably the healthiest romance in the entire show lmao and I shipped them so hard. Foreman literally completely fucking up a drug trial to make sure Remy got the drug bc he was scared of her Huntington's progressing :( they broke up almost entirely bc Olivia wanted to leave the show :( Chase and Remy had a lot of chemistry and I really think if Olivia hadn't left, the writers would have pursued something w them while her and Foreman were broken up bc Chase was flirting w her constantly and helped her when she was stealthily trying to treat someone outside the hospital and also straight up asked her if she wanted to have sex when she told him she was leaving town lmaoooooo like I cannot believe fandom says they give sibling energy. come on now. Foreman / Chase is also just so real, like throwback to when Chase murdered a patient on purpose bc he was a foreign dictator and then Foreman covered it up?!?!?! WILD. this post is so true lmao
Chuck Bartowski / Sarah Walker / Bryce Larkin (Chuck) — FORMATIVE MEDIA. this show was one of my first fixations lol. Sarah is emotionally closed off (as she's a CIA spy) and Chuck is the kind nerd who melts her heart. Chuck being one of my first fictional crushes really makes sense as to why I gravitate towards the male characters that I do lmfaoooooooooooo. anyway Sarah and Bryce were previously involved (he's also a CIA spy) and they fell in love but he's killed on a mission (or so she thinks 😉) and she's assigned to protect Chuck bc Bryce sent him all the files that he "died" for. feelings resurface when Bryce re-enters the picture. Chuck and Bryce had been really close friends in college and one of their professors worked w the CIA and recruited people and Chuck aced a test for that class so Bryce framed him for cheating so Chuck wouldn't be dragged into the spy world. he loved him so much and he let Chuck loathe him bc he couldn't tell him the truth :((((( and then he ended up sending Chuck the data in the pilot bc since college he's learned that Chuck's parents are in the spy business and he wanted Chuck to know the truth (and also he didn't trust anyone else w that material). oughhhhhh I think I just convinced myself I need to do a rewatch. if this sounds tempting, do not watch season 4 or season 5. season 4 is just really poorly planned out and the lore doesn't make much sense when you consider the previous 3 seasons, but season 5 is genuinely unspeakably bad. like this show was everything to me while I was in high school and I didn't touch it for 5+ years bc season 5 is that horrifically awful. truly cannot wrap my head around how the writers fucked it up so badly.
Spock / James Kirk / Nyota Uhura (Star Trek AOS) — I feel like Star Trek: Into Darkness is kind of the piece of media that made me start actively looking for opportunities to polyship lmao you can't tell me that Kirk didn't spend that movie wishing he could be with both of them. and then the warp core scene....... just yeah Spock / Kirk is real!!!!
Vanderohe / Ludwig Dieter / Gwendoline Starr (Army of the Dead & Army of Thieves) — okay Gwendoline and Vanderohe haven't met but HEAR ME OUT!!!! Dieter is a safecracker who is approached by Gwendoline who is an internationally wanted jewel thief and she straight up tells him this when they meet and he immediately agrees to help her bc yes he loves safecracking but also he is soooo into her. their dynamic is super sweet and cute and there's a pivotal moment where Gwendoline chooses him over her team she's worked with for years I was screaming!!!! I'm not going to spoil what exactly happens at the end but Gwendoline and Dieter are separated and he goes to the US and he is soon approached to help with a very risky mission into zombie filled Las Vegas and, again, Dieter is obsessed with safecracking and agrees bc the safe they want to break into is like the hardest safe to crack in the world or something. Dieter is pretty much the only person in the group with 0 combat skills so Vanderohe kinda takes on the position of being his bodyguard and they are just. so boyfriends. there was supposed to be more films in this universe but I just found out all future projects were cancelled :(((((( that's okay I will live in my universe where they manage to find each other after the events of Army of the Dead 😤
Jason Scott / Billy Cranston / Kimberly Hart / Trini Kwan / Zack Taylor (Power Rangers 2017) — a bunch of outcasts who become family :') the way they trust each other and work together very much gives the idea of drift compatible that Pacific Rim introduced lol and the fact that they are able to defeat the villain bc their power of love for each other and willingness to die for each other allows them to form into a megazord. I deserved for this to be a series but unfortunately the movie flopped :(
Bruno / Carla / Rai (Angels of Sex / El Sexo de los Angeles, overtly canon) — Bruno and Carla have been together for years but Bruno feels an instant connection to Rai when they meet and it doesn't take long before he gives into the attraction. (yes, this is cheating -> polyamory story lol) Carla is (understandably) furious about the cheating but realizes she is miserable w/o Bruno when she kicks him out, so she agrees to Bruno being involved with the both of them. Carla wants to hate Rai for the way he's altered her rship w Bruno, but is also charmed by him as she spends some time getting to know him and she decides she wants to sleep with Rai in part to get back at Bruno. what can I say, I LOVE MESS!!! like it's so so so so so messy but genuinely still one of my fave pieces of media about polyamory
Liv Moore / Ravi Chakrabarti / Clive Babineaux (iZombie) — throwback to when I was watching season 1 live and played myself and I was convinced Liv / Ravi was going to be endgame given their set up but the writers were racist and put her with her shitty ex who's a white guy instead haha! 😀 (<- me screaming into the void) it's actually crazy how s1 Liv / Ravi followed all these romantic tropes and he was her one constant and always supportive and she could trust him with anything but nope the writers said fuck you for having taste! Liv / Clive I was more lukewarm on for the first two seasons bc 9 times out of 10 I find it very uncomfortable when two characters are romantically involved when one is hiding a really big secret, but as soon as he learned that Liv was a zombie, I was so on board. I honestly can't talk about these three as much as they deserve bc I got fed up w the show in early season 4 and haven't interacted with it since then. from what I recall, Ravi / Clive was lowkey bait, but they were also really good friends. I remember being very very invested in all three dynamics and if the writers used common sense Liv would have ended up with one (or both) of them.
stormpilot aka Finn / Poe Dameron / Rey (Star Wars) — time to admit that from the sequel trilogy, I've only seen The Force Awakens lol whoops! I do not have the bandwidth for Kyl0 R*n's stupid ass redemption tour, fuck him forever!!!!! fuck Rian Johnson and J.J. Abrams for pursuing r*ylo!!! Finn and Rey were so sweet and ik I keep saying this lmao but. Finn and Poe had such boyfriend vibes in the limited interactions they had in TFA. also the traveling jacket 😌 I mourn what could have been all the time. (also not related to polyam content lol, but thank you Zack Snyder for Rebel Moon which is basically his idea for the sequels. fingers crossed that we get more than the current two films 🤞🤞)
Evie Covington / Xavier Holliday / Timothy Finger (No Tomorrow) — very underrated cute romcom about a man who's calculated that a meteor is going to hit Earth in eight months and he's trying to live life to the fullest. he meets Evie and tells her of this, causing her to stop being so strait-laced and she adopts a similar mentality and creates a bucket list that she starts to cross things off of with the help of Xavier and her friends. it's been a few years since I revisited this one, but I remember finding all the characters very charming. Evie and Xavier were really cute and I loved how they would communicate. Evie and Timothy are exes and iirc they broke up bc they got into a bit of a rut since they were both a similar personality type. Timothy starts to become more relaxed as he recovers from the breakup and he and Evie realize they still have feelings for each other. Timothy and Xavier actually meet in one of the early episodes and they like get high together iirc??? but whatever they weren't sober and they were literally about to have a foursome with these two random women who were also not sober, but then the situation is interrupted and they realize they both have feelings for Evie and decide to be rivals 😭😭😭 which is extra crazy when Xavier literally talked to Evie about how he practices non-monogamy when she confronts him about dating someone else before they became exclusive 😭😭😭 they all should have just dated!!! regardless of this frustration though, I really wish the show had had more than one season bc imo it was one of the best things the CW ever made.
Jacob Schram / Brian Finn / Anna Reilly (Keeping the Faith) — very likely my most niche pick for this list lmfaooooooooo. also very formative media, I'm ethnically Jewish and iirc this was my first time seeing Jewish culture onscreen. Jake and Brian have been best friends forever, they were also close with Anna until she moved away in her early teen years. now a successful businesswoman, she returns to New York and reconnects with the two of them. Jake is now a rabbi and Brian is a priest. both men start to realize they have feelings for her, and Jake and Anna enter into a secret relationship. pure chaos but so very funny. (also oh my goddddddd I had the biggest fucking crush on Edward Norton for like an entire decade bc of this movie lmfaooooooooooo)

3 Will Be Free / สามเราต้องรอด — 3 people on the run from a gang, v-dynamic (Neo is bisexual and he's involved with Miw and Shin (gay)), the relationship development for Neo-Miw is kinda clunky imo and Miw and Shin kiss a few times even tho he states he's gay and not into women at all so that's :/ but the story is mostly good. also I think this is one of the first Thai series to feature a trans woman in the main cast? there are pros and cons to the writing for her, but it's at least a sympathetic portrayal and she has some moments of happiness and she lives.
Three / Drei — basically El Sexo de los Angeles all over again but even messier lmfao (I fucking love chaos I'm sorry lmao)
