This week it's projectweek at Academie Minerva! Merel Wendt came to work with the first year students in the litho workshop. Seems like everybody is having a good time exploring the possibility's that polyesterplate lithography has to offer. Whoei, I'm really enjoying all of it, what a sweet, sweet job this is.... ✨✌️

Been trying to teach myself how to do lithography using polyester plates. It’s been an adventure because my only experience with other kinds of lithography has been from watching other people do it. I went so far as to get an old laser printer for making plates. However, I finally printed what I would consider to be a successful print, so I’m pretty chuffed. That is, until I realized that I had made the plate the wrong way around. Oh well. It’s all an education.

project - every time i made coffee i put a lil paper under it and let the machine drip; i used polyester plate lithography to recreate the shapes the splatters made. the photo on the left is all of the drips aligned w their corresponding print; the photo on the right is a detail of one of these alignments; the center photo is a detail of some of the full prints where i just printed the entire plates, sometimes on top of one another. side note i am so about ink residue in lithography even tho it is verboten
