anyone else getting frustrated by characters on tv who are supposed to be "multilingual" and then you hear them speak in one of their "secondary languages" and it's like they're reading the lines phonetically off a cue card???

a little while ago, I mumbled "comment ça va?" because it just popped into my head randomly, but for some reason I couldn't remember A. what language it was, and B. what it meant.
my best guess for a while was "cómo se va" but that's a grammatical abomination I think
anyway, 1 like = 1 prayer for my brain

The way I show affection to my mom is by calling her “mom” in different languages... I think she gets it.
Hi polyglot langblr ppl, do you sometimes feel some languages are "for" something? i.e. english is my 2nd language and it's my go-to for processing trauma, because since the trauma was not in english, I can analyze it "from afar" if I use english to describe and process it. I recently started to make an effort to use brtp too becauase I think it's important to go to the OG language where it happened too, but it feels very much more personal than english. Idk just thoughts, if anyone wanna add anything that would b great.
Autism polyglots when we wanna say some simple shit like "thank you" but the inner voice goes "감사해요" or "ขอบคุณนะ"... I KNOW this person will not understand it unless I say "thank you", but it's so hard. It's physically painful. I'm not a showoff, I'm suffering 🥹🥹🥹
polyglot stuff is when ur searching for a video of any sort to answer ur question and ur like "am i gonna listen to german, russian, english or french"
i never really learned to use Matlab much, so i probably shouldn’t talk trash about it, but in my mind the initial “mat” is the Russian word “мат“, meaning “cursing”, because all the times i’ve seen people use Matlab they have cursed at it a lot
