Cross guild morning routines hc
ā This was very cozy to write, but I feel like itās not that much to it reallyā¦ My own morning routine is shit btw. I just roll out of bed, get dressed, do my makeup and leaveā¦ I drink my morning coffee in class.
Mihawk
Heās a night owl, and thus he stays up late and prefers to sleep in
Sometimes he stays up late enough to catch the first glimpse of the sun rising
When his schedule allows it, he prefers to sleep until noon, which is why his bedroom windows has thick drapes that wonāt let any sunlight in
Feels like absolute garbage when he wakes up. His irregular sleep schedule often results in headaches, and heās groggy and more short tempered
A candle lit bath with scented oils and a shave usually helps restoring his energy until heās had his morning tea
He generally prefers tea when reading the newspaper in the morning, but later during the day heāll rely on coffee. He takes a dash of milk, but no sugar
Not big on breakfast in the morning, but heāll force himself to eat something light, like scrambled eggs with some herbs from his garden
He absolutely hates stressing, and will take his time getting ready for the day. If anyone has something to say about it, theyāll get a taste of Yoru
Buggy
Usually a pretty early riser without needing an alarm, but it depends on the night before and how hungover he is
His routine is chaotic and always changing depending on his mood. Sometimes heās abnoxiously hyper in the morning and welcomes the day with a smile, and sometimes he has to be dragged out of bed by force
If heās in the mood he does morning yoga
smells his armpit to determine if he can go without a morning shower and jump straight into styling his hair and outfit for the day
Drinks his morning ācoffeeā while applying his makeup. Itās less coffee and more of a colorful sugary concoction thatāll lead to a massive sugar crash later on for sure
Prefers pastries for breakfast, and somehow he always ends up getting glitter on them, even if he doesnāt wear any that dayā¦
Gets ready in a rush but never forgets to stack a few fresh buggy balls in his pockets
His room looks like the aftermath of a circus show every morning
Sir Crocodile
Wakes up at 6:00 sharp every morning
He clenches his jaw in his sleep so he usually wakes up with a headache (already has aspirin prepared on the nightstand, which he swallows dry)
His morning routine is practically non-existent as it quickly transitions into work, but even he has his morning rituals
He starts by opening a window to invite fresh morning air inside, and then heāll quickly ruin that by indulging in his first cigar of the day
Heāll also clean and refill the water bowl for the birds that likes to come to his window
For a quick caffeine fix, heāll usually grab an espresso on the go from the most expensive looking bar while taking a morning walk, and heāll also purchase a newspaper during that time
He alway makes sure to stop by the bananagator enclosure
When he gets back, heāll usually check the status on his partners, and if Buggy isnāt up by 8:00 sharp, heāll drag him out by force
He tells himself he allows Mihawk to sleep in, but in reality not even Crocodile is brave enough to face the consequences of waking the swordsman from his slumber
Someone: wow, you have lots of rings
Corazon: yep
Someone: what are the four rings youāre wearing now?
Corazon: this one is an engagement from prudence, an engagement ring from Dob, another engagement ring from Merilwen-
Someone: ... multiple engagement rings?...
Corazon: yeah, because I have multiple partners, thought that was obvious - anyway, the last one is an engagement ring from Egbert
the thing is i think crocodile and mihawk are dating, mihawk and buggy are dating, but crocodile and buggy arent but they will be fucking each other if mihawk isnt available and theyre desperate enough. yknow?
i dont usually have mermay ideas but i very suddenly do for polyguild
speaking of weed. cross guild specific marijuana headcanons my pals and i came up with while we dicked around on ponytown:
mihawk is almost always on edibles because if he isnt in a good mood he starts killing people. he likes chocolate edibles and keeps boxes on them in the refrigerator. hes so used to taking them that you cannot tell the difference between him on them or off them, except when he starts stabbing.
buggy likes smoking it, hes just really bad at smoking, so he coughs everytime he tries to take a hit. his eyes are red as his nose and puffy as shit and he sniffles a lot. he is not allowed to smoke it indoors because mihawk hates the smell (thats why he eats edibles)
crocodile tried an edible and tried smoking respectively once. nothing happened to him so he figured it was pointless for the rest of his life*. problem is, they didn't tell him you need to adjust the amount for your kg. he found THAT out because he stood at a counter and ate an entire box of mihawks chocolate edibles and only stopped when mihawk saw he was doing it. He does not like being high
Cross Guildās taste in films/tv series
Since my dad raised me to be a huge film nerd I decided to put my knowledge to use and make this hc, since the polyguild is all I can think about latelyā¦
Iām trying to stay true to their character when picking the films I think they would enjoy, but letās face it - some of these people (not naming any names *clears throat* š) are very hard to please and doesnāt indulge in any free timeā¦
Anyway, this was just fun to make!
Mihawk
Itās no secret to anyone that he has embraced the gothic lifestyle, and that includes the more dark and freaky aspects, which he keeps under wraps under that unsociable yet graceful facade. Heās like a Vampire in every aspectā¦
So our favorite gothic diva, who likes to indulge in the finer things, ranging from food, drinks and arts, will naturally also be a huge horror connoisseur.
Like with everything else, Mihawk is extremely picky in what films he enjoys, and I can see him staying away from most book adaptations. For example, I donāt see him watching any Dracula or Frankenstein adaptation, unless the cinematography is too appealing to resist. Besides, he loves a good gothic romance story. The darker and more taboo and provocative the better.
I can see him admiring directors like Guillermo del Toro, Peter Greenaway, David Cronenberg & Ken Russell, but his all time favorite will always be Tim Burton.
However, I do see him liking any film that has good sword stunts as wellā¦ BUT, he might be a bit annoying to watch them with, since heāll make displeased sounds whenever they get it wrongā¦

Buggy
While I think Buggy would enjoy a movie night as a group activity, I find it hard to believe heād sit down and watch a new film on his own. Heāll want to comment and laugh or cry along with other people.
I also get the vibe that heād be a bit too hyper to be able to sit down and focus on just any film. I think he has his favorites (which he rewatches constantly and knows every quote from) but most of the time it takes some hard convincing/threat to make him sit through something completely new.
He doesnāt care as much about the cinematography as Mihawk, but if the castās got nice fashion and makeup itās a plus.
I can see him liking costume dramas and 90s comedy flicks, but he also likes there to be a touch of darkness and satire. Obviously a fan of cartoons as well, and maybe some musicals (but I donāt watch many musicals so I wouldnāt know which ones).
I actually think heād rather watch tv series, because heās very much a person who needs to relate to the characters or situations at least a little. Otherwise heāll be bored and lose interest.

Other films: Fantastic Mr. Fox by Wes Anderson, The Nightmare Before Christmas (Mihawk refuses to watch it with him bc heāll sing along to every song), Rango, Withnail and I (bc I needed a doomed yaoi on his list)
Tv series: Bojack Horseman, Buffy the Vampire Slayer (he just wanted to torment Mihawk by learning some quotes but he got invested), Breaking Bad
Sir Crocodile
Ok this is a tough one because I do not see this man watching any film on his own initiative. The first film that popped into my head was Citizen Kane by Orson Welles, but it might hit several sore spots for him so Iām not too sureā¦
I think Crocodile is more of a documentary kinda guy, and heāll see everything else as a waste of his time if he canāt learn anything from it.
However, I can see him being more inclined to watch films based around true events, or if they have social criticism on a dark and twisted level
Films: Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy based on John le Carreās book, Apocalypse Now by Francis Ford Coppola, A Clockwork Orange by Stanley Kubrick
Tv series: Mad Men, Chernobyl, Peaky Blinders, a lot of wildlife documentaries (I can see him finding Herzogās Encounters at the end of the world funny)

im enthralled by both versions of a mermaid/siren au but right now im gonna talk abt my siren!mihawk one. so croc and buggy are two lone pirates sailing for fuck all purposes, croc is seasoned hes familiar with lore and routes, buggy is younger and less experienced but he has a thirst for adventure and the captain. anyway, in a gentle strait in the ocean, buggy is looking out over the sea and maybe the sunset and he looks down because he notices something hopping in the water. he thinks its a dolphin out of the corner of his eye but when he looks down its this (to him) merman who has these hauntingly beautiful eyes and stares like a cat might. the merman is clearly jumping out of the water trying to reach buggy. he starts to notice its like actually CLAWING at the side of the ship trying to get to him. so buggy drops a heavy rope down to help him get up because maybe the merman is injured and needs help, and mihawk crawls into the ship. unfortunately, buggy does not realize hes just invited a siren onboard the ship, but crocodile does, and he knows sirens only come on land to hunt and mate. etc. whatever
