my first polypurple fanart! i sure hope there's no angst in it! /silly

anyway, i don't think they'd be able to talk about the incident properly at all. it'd probably take at least a month for them to bring it up amongst themselves, and this comic is basically what i think would happen in that conversation (‘conversation’ used extremely liberally):

void would take the easy way out and blame psychic. he's the one in charge of training sampi, he's the one who pushed them to that point of emotional breakdown, and he's the one who broke sampi's trust by prioritizing dd. he also probably sees psychic's decision as a means to run away from the problem he created. and what does it matter if he didn't give away all the details of his inheritance? if psychic just paid more attention to how sampi was doing mentally, stopped projecting himself onto sampi, none of this would've happened.

psychic would retaliate. if he didn't return to the scene himself to see it, someone has to let slip at some point that void stopped trying to help and just stood there dumbfounded while sampi continued to suffer and hood took the brutalization. on top of that, void deliberately omitted to him how much more dangerous his powers could potentially be throughout their entire relationship, and never gave any actual pointers to how he controls them despite being the only person who could comprehend them. if he really wants to go for the kill, he would question void's decision to agree to have sampi in the first place, knowing what could result from him passing down his powers to an actual child. every step of the way, it's void's inaction that plagued sampi's life.

amidst the chaos, hood fails to find the strength to interfere as he silently blames himself. no, it's not that he thinks he alone could've saved the situation. he already tried his hardest and it didn't work — that's the problem. that he thought all of this could've worked out without any major incidents if he just tried hard enough. that love could've been enough.

the only bright side is that sampi wouldn't be there to see them like this. or would they. that would be so cruel please don't /lh

anyway this got way longer than i wanted it to be lmao, i hope this whole thing makes as much sense as i think it does, and ty twig for the sampi lore drop <33

anyway i do think the apparent fact that sampi blames psychic more than he blames void is very very interesting and i would like to see the impact of that on psyvoid and psychic’s general attitude to being around the others explored a little more
