2019 Signup Countdown
With 11 days to go, it’s time to bring back the Signup Countdown!

Derse is currently in the lead with a cool nine signups, while Prospit currently has six. We’ve also gotten a total of three pinch hitter signups! Looking good, guys!

Polyswap 2020 Plans
Okay, so. A couple things going forward.
Derse is, and has always been, the swap for participants who are 18 and up. You can create NSFW. You do not have to create NSFW. It’s any rating.
Prospit is, and has always been, the swap for SFW content. You can be any age, as long as you’re old enough to be allowed on AO3. It’s any age.
This is not going to change in the future, but we are planning on making some changes on how we handle things. A big part of our goal in splitting the swap like this is making sure that everyone who wants to participate can participate in a way that’s comfortable for them. When it comes to events, it’s a new set of problems and solutions every year. We don’t know what works well or what was a terrible idea until we’ve tried it.
So two things we’re changing for next year:
You can have as many NSFW prompts as you want for Derse! Go ahead. Go ham. BUT we do need you to be aware that you might not get a NSFW gift! Derse is a 18+ Participants Only swap, not a NSFW swap, and we do not guarantee NSFW for anyone.
If all of your prompts specifically insists that they have to be NSFW, or if your prompts are created in a way that they can’t be filled without things being NSFW, then that’s an issue and we’ll talk to you about it. As long as you’re giving people the option to create something rated anything from G to E, you can have as much NSFW in as you want.
We're going to create and curate a tag list. Things on it, if they're in your fill, must be tagged. Much like the Shipping Olympics and Shipping World Cup, we'll have tiers of "Must Tag" and "Recommended to Tag". We'll only contact people re: tagging if they don't follow the list.
We're still going to do a basic check for things like "is this fic complete, does it meet the prompt, are the major tags tagged", but other than that, we'll let you guys handle how you tag.
You can always ask us about our tagging requests. They're requests, meant as suggestions except in certain cases, where you're posting something that might genuinely be triggering. If you don't want to use a certain tag, or don't know why one is being requested, tell us why, and we'll work with you on it.
As a last reminder to everyone, shipshaming and character bashing is still not tolerated. While we’re not kink-centric like @drone-season, the Derse Swap is kink-friendly, and will continue to remain so. We’re here to help build people and poly content up, not tear each other down.
Schedule and Planning
We’re getting the ball rolling on Polyswap 2019! To start you guys off, we’ve got some updates on our plans for the year, and the 2019 schedule as well.
On Hiveswap: After mod deliberation, we’ve decided not to allow Hiveswap prompts or characters in Polyswap. This is, first and foremost, a Homestuck Swap! However, we’re planning on setting up a Hiveswap Polyswap later this year, and we want your opinions—full swap? Yearly miniswap? Let us know! We’ll be posting a poll soon enough to get feedback there.
On the Giveaway: Yes, we’re still planning to do this! There will be a post for you guys to reblog, and everyone who A. reblogs it, B. signs up for Polyswap, or C. signs up to be a Pinch Hitter will be counted for one entry. Multiple entries are a possibility! A winner will be drawn when the collection opens. People who last-minute default (without good reason) will not be eligible to win. Yarn types and shipping will be discussed with the winner.
On Incomplete Works: You have until the end of signups to get them in, or prove that they’re serialized! If neither is true, we won’t be able to accept your signup.
On the Schedule: We’re moving things up a little earlier this year (it’s almost a throwback to year one!) and we’re hoping that the shift allows for more freedom with signups for other fandom events. Without further ado:

June 11: Deadline to Default, Prompts Released

June 29: Polyswap Prospit and Derse Collections open
July 6: Derse and Prospit Authors Revealed, Polyswap Presents Collection opens
July 9: Polyswap Presents Authors Revealed
