I'm going to say something REALLY controversial.

Dave is so much cuter and prettier as an octopus than as his Octavius Brine persona.

As a human, his looks and movements are too uncanny, in my eyes. As an octopus, his cartoony side seems much more fitting to his looks. He's funny looking, and I like it better.

Part 2 to the other anon question because I forgot to add it: Dave probably invented an animal to human translator to add to his disguise.

It would make sense. Knowing Dave that wouldn't be too out of pocket.

Although that DOES bring up an interesting hypothetical of if another animal found the device and started using it. I can only imagine the chaos that would stir if the wrong animal found it.
