I've been super-curious about these crystal #clarinet mouthpieces since I started playing again, but I never had a chance to try one. I needed to update my setup on my basset horn, and I saw the online shop had a few of these from #pomarico in stock and was waiving their fees on trials, so I decided to give a few a try. Really interesting feel and sound to them. I love my regular mouthpiece (a Backun O+) but I was interested in seeing if I could find something with a warmer, somewhat "smaller" sound for chamber music. Not sure if I'll keep any. I had been warned that the crystal is hard to machine precisely compared to the standard ebonite, and I found that to be true - the three mouthpieces I tried were all quite different and one was almost unplayable.
My mouthpiece is kinda rad
