Yes, I'm a complete fan of wheat; I've watched a whole page of the comic. I've been sitting in a fandom for 50 years, there's a guy in the picture 🌚🌚🌚🌚🌚🌚💙💙💙💙🏳🌈🏳🌈🏳🌈🏳🌈🏳🌈🏳🌈
Rule 2: Answer the questions the person who tagged you asked and write 11 new ones
Rule 3: Tag 11 people and link them to the post
Rule 4: Actually tell them you tagged them
For me to answer:
1) What does your username mean or what made you decided on your tumblr username?
When I was signing up for Tumblr, it was late at night and I was just trying to pick out a random username from the jumble of possible usernames that were floating around my head. I think at some point, my brain stumbled upon the idea of making a play on Pandora’s Box, because I’d always liked that myth and I was also trying to get into Pandora Hearts at the time. It’s interesting though, because knowing my late-night brain, I was probably subconsciously making some trippy analogy between Tumblr and opening Pandora’s Box because I definitely knew that it would be a source of procrastination for me, haha. I just kind of settled on the name “Pandera” after sticking to my train of thought for a bit.
2) What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
Idk about advice, but here’s a quote that’s been circulating around my head ever since I heard it a couple of years ago: “When I was young, I admired clever people. Now that I am old, I admire kind people.” – Abraham Joshua Heschel.
3) What is the stupidest thing that you want to do/have done even though your brain is/was screaming, “no, no, NO!”?
Oh man, where do I even start… I wanna say that it was infiltrating a boat dock in 7th grade to see what was on the other side, since the people in Bear Mountain were like “it’s prohibited”. That seems kind of minor though… it wasn’t really that thrilling now that I think about it hahaha.
4) Who is your favorite fictional character and why?
Rivaille, hands down LOL. I didn’t really think about why until recently though, but I guess it’s because he’s what I would want the authority figures in my life to be? Like I really admire him because he knows what he has to do, even if it would hurt him to do it. He also especially reminds me of my grandpa… both because my grandpa worked in the military at some point and also because one of the memories that I have of my grandpa involves a long string of fart jokes (I was 5, but that didn’t stop him from making them hahaha).
ALSO I feel like I can relate to him a lot because cleaning is calming and I sometimes feel old when I hang out with the members of the fencing team of the high school that I went to (they’re like 3 years younger than me).
5) What is one song that makes you the happiest and why?
Guren no Yumiya
It’s definitely “How Far We’ve Come” by Matchbox Twenty. The first time I ever heard the song was when I saw this AMV (http://www.acfun.tv/v/ac413875) on my Tumblr dash, and I’ve loved it ever since. The lyrics just speak to me, because I feel like I can relate to some of the characters in Tsuritama painfully well. The AMV is also really nice because it’s about overcoming barriers for friendship, so the song just reminds me of that message every time I listen to it.
I may or may not also have a thing for songs that have guitars in the background, haha.
6) What is your favorite fandom trope?
I had to look this up, but it might be “Fandom Life Cycle”? Sounds about right LOL
7) What is your favorite childhood memory?
Even though I have a lot of wacky memories now that I look back at my childhood (refer to number 9), my favorite childhood memories are related to my piano. I started piano when I was in the 2nd grade, and I always liked listening to my piano teacher play after our weekly lessons because her music sounded really deep and meaningful. So when I went home, I would try to recreate the magical / calm atmosphere that I felt when she played. I would feel really proud of myself when my grandma fell asleep on the couch listening to me play, because it made me feel like I had succeeded a little bit in creating said environment.
8) What is the worst thing about your high school experience?
Waking up at 5:50 a.m. for six years straight so I could either catch the school-bus or the train to get to school on time. 10/10 would not do again.
9) What is the strangest thing you believed as a child?
I believed in A LOT of strange things as a kid. One of the things that I can think up of off the top of my head, though, is that I had this need to get out of the bathroom before the toilet finished flushing because I thought that some kind of demonic creature / spirit would pop out of the toilet and maul me if I didn’t make it out on time.
I don’t know what caused this irrational belief, but as with all my morbid childhood thoughts, I’m going to connect this to the fact that my parents watched Chucky with me when I was like 3 because they thought that I was too young to understand the plot.
10) What is one thing that you’re dying to say but never had the courage to?
My horoscope says that I’m a tsundere, but I just think that I’m really bad at expressing myself in person so I’m fairly sure that none of my friends actually know what they mean to me unless they’ve been talking to me at like 4a.m. in the morning over some kind of messenger.
11) Have you met someone that you immediately click with or someone that you immediately dislike but become really close to later on?
Yea, I met my best friend that way, actually. When I was 5 or 6, my parents decided to surprise me with a gift from the Pokemon Center because I guess they didn’t want to deprive me of a childhood. On the other hand though, they also didn’t want to straight out buy me a Game Boy Color at that point because they didn’t want to ruin my eyesight. So one day, they just covered my eyes and brought me said “gift”, which turned out to be a life-sized Pikachu doll. At the time, I actually felt really sad that they got me the Pikachu doll instead of the Charmander one, because I thought that they knew my favorite Pokemon was Charmander at the time. In any case, me and Pikachu started out really rough but it’s been through a lot with me, so now we’re best buddies. It’s even gotten to the point that I’m extremely overprotective of it, even to my parents, lol.

My questions: Do them if you want?
1. What do you tend to notice / pay attention to in your surroundings when you stroll around town?
2. What’s your first memory?
3. If you were an animal what would you be?
4. What made you decide to stick with Tumblr?
5. Is there any one thing that magically calms you down in any situation?
6. What was your favorite TV show as a child?
7. Did you have any role models as a child (fictional or real life)?
From the infamous Soviet Funk series on Secret Stash Records comes Pomogite, a supposed Soviet funk band from the 70s. Whether or not these tracks are actually Soviet funk, although it sounds more like progressive funky jazz, recorded by Pavel Sysoyev, they are still killer tracks that tread the line between funk and jazz. This particular track "Izvinite" has a bit of a disco touch to it as well! Secret Stash 2011.
