If you had tomodachi life, would you try making the NaN gijinka as a mii?

i mean. obviously. if not just regular NaN.

of course i don't plan on getting it. i've said it before but i'm not interested in switch games, and i don't think tomodachi life is my vibe anyway. but i'm glad everyone else is having fun with it!

though, if anyone out there is brave enough to attempt it, they have my blessing to make a NaN mii! i'd love to see her if you do!

How come your pikasona has the black marking on its tail? Is it supposed to be like a reference to people misremembering pikachu having a black marking on its tail or is it there for aesthetic purposes?

not exactly!! it's kind of a deep cut reference to my original deviantart username.

my first deviantart username was TeamRocketsPikachu, because as a kid i was Really Inspired by the art of timmy-gost/ash-dragon-wolf.

when you're a young kid, you kind of learn how to make/design characters by copying other people's. so my first variant of my pikasona had the exact same tail as rocketchu.

as i got a little older though, i wanted a design that was fully mine, so i came up with this zigzag shape. i also removed the brown on the tail for some reason, and made the entire body a lighter color than the average pikachu.

but then afterwards i killed off my pikasona to make them more in line with my pokepasta branding, so i decided to dull their colors and tear off the end of their tail! (bc nonbinary lol)

so the black on the tail is more just a legacy thing at this point, haha!

I know this might be weird to say BUT I LOVE YOUR LOVE FOR NaN! I dunno how to explain it but the way you talk about her makes me feel the love and genuine feelings you have for her also modding NaN into HGSS and the pokewalker is so awesome and I wonder if I could do something similar with my own oc I selfship with

thank you!! i appreciate how supportive people have been abt me and NaN. i’m glad i can be so unapologetically in love with her and other people love seeing it, too.

i’ve said it before, but she really does bring out the best in me, inspiring me to do things i never had the confidence to try before. setting up ACE, learning rom hacking… she’s helping me learn and grow, and i’m happy to share my journey with you all in real time! i wonder where she’ll take me next!!

yeah, hopefully - but i doubt it. tiktok seems like the kind of place that doesn't care if you steal art from off-site even if you were to report it. it's a lot like deviantart in that way. i've dealt with countless art thieves who've stolen my tumblr artwork and deviantart refused to do anything about it.

i'm usually able to just brush it off, but having it happen with my art of NaN specifically is what pisses me off.

i'm not even necessarily against the idea of my art being cross-posted to a platform it was never going to be on anyway - my issue comes solely from the fact that they did not ask permission or include my authors' notes. so i end up seeing tiktok commenters treating NaN like she's just a representation of a generic missingno when she is so so much more than that to me. and they'll never know it because they don't care enough to come find me off-site.

it also sucks that so many other artists have had their shit taken from yellowviridian too, and they've been able to rake in thousands of follows off of artists who are most likely just like me and didn't give their consent to being reposted.

i guess this sort of thing is why artists put signatures on their work, but i personally don't like doing that because 1) it looks tacky and 2) art thieves will find a way to crop/edit signatures out anyway.

the people who have critical thinking skills will come to find me anyway, and that's a bit of a silver lining to all this.

the most i can really do about it now is try to ignore it and move on.

Hey I just want to thank you for your pokepastas I remember having a short phase when I was like 12 where I was obsessed with reading pokepastas and Pokemon Dead Channel inspired me to play Pokemon channel via emulation on my laptop and I love it a lot and it’s currently one of my favorite pokemon spinoff games, it really needs more love.

I want to ask why exactly did celebi target the trainers eggs and eevees? When I read Nasty Plot I didn’t quite get what the meaning was? Maybe I’m stupid cause I don’t quite exactly get why the celebi is a picture of innocence after using nasty plot and targeting the eevee eggs. Love your stuff btw, wished we got more Pokemon Ghostlocke I really liked reading the comics

haha no problem! i can't take credit for writing dead channel of course, i just own the story/character now, but i'm right there with you! i loved BRVR back then just as much as you! pokemon channel was a silly little game from my childhood too, and i'm glad dead channel gave it some more appreciation.

anyways- about the nasty plot celebi. they targeted the player's pokemon and eggs just because murder was funny! it was just a funny little prank for them. there wasn't really a deeper meaning to it. it's also worth mentioning that innocence also took joey's rattata (and presumably killed it), so it's not like they targeted exclusively eevees. the celebi would've targeted any pokemon or eggs the player was hatching, it just happened to be eevees.

thank you though! i wish i could've worked more on ghostlocke. i recently started feeling nostalgic and started rereading my old scripts i had planned for future pages... the plot was pretty much planned from start to end, but i underestimated just how many backgrounds i would need for each scene. it was a bit too intimidating, so i decided to step away from it. maybe after pkmn-monochrome is over, i might try picking it up again…? (no promises though!!)
