Discovering how uncomfortable it is with someone much younger than me being attracted to me. Also learning how to shut that down gently. Yet again also, recognising how I very nearly wasn't me anymore, or anything, anymore. So many friends coming out of nowhere to tell me they're glad I'm back. That I'm not so cold, and that my compassion is still there and the best part of me. I needed tonight, for growth and discovery and realisation. How many times can you say that about a night on the piss? Something I've not done in actual years. As much as some part of me would have appreciated taking somebody home, I feel better not, knowing that I'm more than happy to keep my distance unless I truly wanted that. I am in more control than I expected. I thought I'd have one of those moments where I was grateful that someone, anyone, would want me and go for it. I'm impressed to know I'm not acting out of desperation, and while cautious, not afraid. Though let's see how this all goes next week when my ex is back. Whether I still can maintain my fortitude in the face of something that brought me lower than even I realised.

This has been another long one about sex and relationships and people who I love and who love me. I am so very lucky that my friends are as they are. They made sure to let me know that says more about me than them, and that fact repeated means more than I was capable of realising the last few years.

I will be okay, not because there is no other choice, but because it's on the way to being better.
