It's easier to say 'te amo' in portuguese mostly because we dont have other options i think????? You can say 'eu gosto de você' but that doesn't necessarily have a romantical undertone, you know what i mean? It's kind of the same as 'i like you'. Personally i still think 'te amo' is muuuuuuchh deeper and intense than 'i love you' though lol. I think brazillians are just naturally more open and loving people really
