bad sushi + sleepover with vi blurb
♦️ i don’t know what led me to write this, but i thought it was something different lol. besides, it’s been sitting in my drafts and i laughed quite a bit rereading it… so have fun with whatever this monster is!
pairing: vi x reader
…
“i’m craving something…” you whined, despite just finishing a good portion of the large supreme pizza you and vi had bought for dinner.
the two of you were wearing matching hello kitty pajamas, in celebration of your first sleepover together.
vi glanced over at you, peeling off the face mask you had forced her to wear before letting out a thoughtful hum. “y’know what i’ve never tried? sushi.”
you sat up straighter, your brows furrowed as if you were offended. “what?! you’re telling me you’ve never tried it? not even something basic like a california roll?”
your girlfriend shook her head, before flashing you a small grin. “maybe we should give it a shot,” she suggested, already reaching to grab her keys.
you should’ve known getting sushi as a late night meal was risky, especially since one: your girlfriend had never even tried a sliver of raw fish (and you never liked eating sushi that had raw fish), and two: the sushi was bought from kroger.
in the aftermath of your little adventure, you were only left with a slight spell of nausea that went away after a brief walk, while vi was basically on the verge of dying. and now, she had used your bathroom a grand total of five times within the past hour.
you knocked on the door, leaning your ear against the wood.
“baby, you doing okay?” you called out.
“yep! totally fine!” she croaked.
“are you done? can i come in?” you asked. it was no secret that vi was probably having one of the wildest diarrhea experiences of her life, but for some reason your girlfriend was hellbent on keeping you out.
“no! don’t come in!” she shouted, her voice leaking with embarrassment. you could hear the muffled sounds through the door, and you genuinely wanted to help her out.
“okay, then come out then! i got you some pepto bismol and gatorade,” you said impatiently, wiggling the doorknob.
with a small groan, the door cracked open. vi stood on the other side, looking like she had just finished running a marathon, her forehead damp with sweat and her cheeks flushed.
“thanks,” she mumbled, her face turning an even deeper shade of red as she grabbed the gatorade.
“promise me you won’t go into that bathroom for a bit?” she asked softly, eyes glued to the floor.
you stifled a laugh, not wanting to make her feel worse. “okay, okay, i promise, violet,” you said, pulling her back toward the couch.
“so much for our first sleepover, huh? i practically nuked your toilet,” she groaned, slumping down against the cushions with a hand on her stomach.
“well… at least now we’ve gotten over the awkwardness of bodily functions around each other? so i’d count this sleepover a success,” you teased.
after a beat, your gaze drifted toward the shut bathroom door. “…why can’t i go in there exactly? are you afraid it smells? because we can just turn the vent on,” you offer casually.
vi stiffened, immediately grabbing your wrist. she let out a long sigh, burying her face against your chest. “i might’ve… clogged it. like really bad,” she admitted in a muffled voice.
that was it. you couldn’t hold back your laughter anymore. you clutched your stomach, wheezing as vi groaned and hid her face deeper against you.
“it’s not funny!” she whined.
“no, it is,” you managed between breaths. “but hey… if our relationship can survive kroger sushi and a clogged toilet on our first sleepover, i think we’re solid.”
vi groaned again, but this time her arms tightened around you, and you could feel the smile she was trying so hard to hide.
