Caga Tio or Tio de Nadal
Miniature version with a miniature stick, made for a friend.
2021
Last Christmas my friends and I came upon a video on YouTube which introduced us to the Pooping Log. We laughed for about three hours! Thank you Catalan and Spanish culture for this weird and wonderful tradition! The friend who showed us this video has had a particularly difficult year, so my husband decided that she should have a Cago Tio of her own to cheer her up! So he made this odd little creature! He’s tiny because he’s going to be an ornament. He decided to crochet the little hat, which is why Tio looks a bit like a redhead with an up do. But I think it makes him even more adorable in his strange little way! Now all we have to do is find a tiny stick that she can beat him with!
Feliz Navidad!
Anime boy squad
That one anime squad base but it’s my friend and I, and our son, Shit Log the pooping log.
A log that poops presents? It's a Christmas thing in Catalonia.
This and more weird, wonderful & bizarre Christmas traditions from around the world on our latest pinboard. Happy Holidays from all of us at GTMA!
So, there's a tradition in Spain where logs poop at Christmas. And they poop out gifts and onions. In order to receive these gifts, children beat the log and sing a song. Also, the log has googly eyes Basically, I don't understand the world, but my roommate and I have been laughing non-stop.
Needless to say, I know what I'm bringing to this year's Christmas party.
