Caga Tió | Barcelona, Spain If you ever see small children hitting a log with fervor around the holidays in Catalonia, I think it's safe to say it's the Caga Tió (lit. "Shitting Log") tradition.  From what I understand, you're supposed to hit the log to make it "shit" presents.  And according to Wikipedia, it only "shits" small, communal presents like candy, whereas the three wise men bring larger gifts. As an economics major, I'm surprised the free rider problem doesn't seem to be, well...a problem. photos by thisoysterismyhometown
