Jade’s hands tremble as he reaches out for the photo, his eyes wide and his grin about three times its usual size. All of his contained elation bursts forward in one fell swoop, as Jade’s clear laughter rings through the room.
“Oh, Floyd has never looked better!” He brings a hand to his mouth, trying to cover his wide maw, tears springing unbidden to his eyes. His shoulders shake and his cheeks are flushed. To see Jade lose his composure like this was quite a rare feat, and all it took was to see the combination of his two favorite things.
As the initial wave of sheer unadulterated euphoria passed over him, Jade tried his best to slip back into his mask, although his cheeks were still twitching with mirth, still flushed with excitement.
“Oya, oya. I apologize for that display.” He cleared his throat, his chuckles still escaping him. He wipes away some of his tears of laughter. His hands grip the photo even tighter. “This is quite possibly the best thing I will see this week, fufufu.
“Please excuse me, there is someone who needs to see this right away.” Jade gives you a light bow, almost back to his normal, stoic self. He turns to go find his brother.
“Oh Floyd!”
