The sweet treat of doom and despair
A bit of a sneak peak for you! I'm finally actually writing the next chapter, I promise.

Fantastic Four (2018) but only the valid scenes (aka the few scenes I actually liked)
First of all Valeria is 100% correct I don't care what Reed is saying she's RIGHT
Secondly elderly Latverian aunty my beloved and she is absolutely justified about hitting Ben with a broom. (Yes this is re: Latverians must be so exhausted constantly being invaded by superheroes who actually have zero regard or care for their homes or their lives)
Ok but she's right. She's right. MY GIRLFRIEND IS RIGHT YOU GUYS
This is the best part of the entire series and nothing will top this moment. This is the only joke that actually made me laugh out loud when I saw it.
...and that's it. There's over 30 issues BTW.
The temperature in Germantown was well below freezing. Will was bundled up tightly as he stared at the crime scene. Hannibal was at his side, looking out of place compared to law-enforcement who were all over the scene and in the surrounding woods. Despite the early call, Hannibal looked thrilled to be there.
"Sorry for dragging you out here with me," Will huffed. "Jack was convinced this was another Chesapeake Ripper victim."
"No need to apologize," Hannibal's eyes danced with warmth and curiosity. "I appreciate the opportunity to see you at work. You're not convinced this victim fits the criteria?"
Will smirked and shook his head. "Nah, there's some mutilation sure, but it's all pretty quick and dirty. Someone killed him but there's no... finesse... Just savagery."
Beverly Katz hummed her agreement in front of them as she finished taking pictures. "Too precise for an animal attack. Too imprecise for the Ripper." She turned to them both. "Crime of passion?"
Hannibal tilted his head to the side, "Violence and passion, one of the oldest stories."
Jack came up behind them, "And now it's time to fill in the blanks of this story. Katz, get to work IDing the victim. Then we'll make the rounds with friends and family."
Beverly nodded and continued with her work. Jack turned to Hannibal and Will. "I appreciate you both being here. Local PD want to take the lead since it's not the Chesapeake Ripper's work. I'm still making our lab available just in case." Before turning away he said to Will, "I'll see you after your classes in the lab."
Will sighed and turned to Hannibal. "Lovely, just when mid-term grades are due."
Hannibal followed Will back to their respective cars parked close to the main road. His face showed concern as he asked, "Are you alright, Will?"
"Fine," he sighed. "I'll manage through today. Give myself a day off tomorrow for fishing or something else. For now, I need to head in and get to a stack of papers. You eat anything?"
"I should be asking you that." Hannibal replied.
Will shrugged and fished something from his pocket. "Was going to snack on this when I got here, not hungry anymore. You want it?"
It was a packet of cheese slices on one side and a mixture of cashews and cranberries on the other. The cheese made Hannibal pause. "Are you 'cheese folk', Will?"
"What?" Will's face was amused. "Who calls themselves that?"
"One of my patients," Hannibal shrugged. "You should eat that, or something, if you're just heading into teaching."
"Are you rejecting it because of the cheese? Are you a cheese snob, Dr. Lecter?" Will was teasing.
"No, just not a fan of," he looked at the packaging again, "whatever that yellow curd monstrosity is."
"Cheese snob," Will guffawed. "Knew it. Alright, I'll make you a compromise: I'll eat the so-called cheese. You take the healthier bits."
Before Hannibal could say anything, Will opened the half of the container sealing in the American Cheddar slices and ate them in three mouthfuls. He pressed the rest of the container in Hannibal's glove-covered hand.
"There. I've eaten," Will ignored the twitch in Hannibal's jaw, "I already have coffee in my car. I am good to go. Next time, you can bring the better quality snacks."
"You're making it sound like we were just out on a date rather than reviewing a crime scene." Hannibal sounded absolutely charmed by Will's playful, dare he hope, flirtatious, behavior.
Will gave him a meaningful smile, "What will make or break a date with me is the type of cheese you bring along with you. For I am indeed 'cheese folk.'"
Hannibal could not help laughing at that.
Something more.
