Hide has this habit where he likes to kiss his friends on the cheek to make them smile. But Hide has never done that to Kaneki because Hide is crushing on his friend. Kaneki is jealous that he's the only not getting the kiss so one time after Hide kisses Ikuma’s cheek, Kaneki pulls Hide aside and kisses Hide on the lips hard before he growls at a confused Ikuma. Hide almost passes out because Kaneki won't stop kissing him.

What the fuck? What the fuck!? This is the purest thing I’ve ever been sent. I need a moment before I undoubtedly fuck this up.

Excuse me.

———————————————————Kaneki drums his fingers against the countertop in pure irritation. He’s been watching Hide kiss everyone’s cheek during the New Year’s party. No, it’s not because he’s drunk. It’s a habit of Hide’s that’s developed over the past year. The blond says it’s always been a thing, but Kaneki says it started because Hide’s been watching a lot of western shows (and probably has been hanging out with Tsukiyama too much as well, but the half ghoul won’t say that piece out loud).

Yes. Hide has been kissing everybody on the cheek. And by everyone, Kaneki means everyone but him. He wants a kiss on the cheek too. He’s been dropping hints constantly. Hell, Kaneki once put a red bullseye on his cheek and even that was ignored. Laughed at, yes, but it’s hidden message was ignored.

Each time Hide kisses someone that’s not Kaneki, his jealousy only grows stronger. Hide’s even kissed Nishiki on the cheek! Who does that!? That ghoul tried to kill him once, and Hide has the balls to kiss him on the cheek? Nishiki has the audacity to accept it and flick Hide’s forehead?

So here Kaneki is once again. Standing off on the sidelines and watching Hide greet everyone with a kiss. When Hide kisses Ayato’s cheek, Kaneki’s fingers stop their movements and grip the counter. When Hide kisses Tsukiyama’s cheek and the ghoul returns the gesture, Kaneki’s grip on the countertop toughens and there’s a loud crack from him breaking off a chunk of it. A few people look Kaneki’s way with arched brows. The half ghoul rolls his eyes and waves them away.

“You’ve got it bad.” Touka teases from beside Kaneki. She takes a sip of her coffee.

“Shut up.” Kaneki grumbles.

“You’re like that dog that gets jealous when its owner shows affection to other dogs.” Touka laughs. Kaneki’s eye twitches at the comparison.

“Thank you.” He says flatly.

Kaneki’s eyes zero in on Hide kissing Ikuma’s cheek. The ghoul smiles and wraps an arm around Hide’s waist. He tilts the human’s chin up and… That bastard is gonna try to kiss Hide!

“Not on my watch, you’re not.” Kaneki growls and gets out of his seat.

“Here we go.” Touka sighs and watches the scene unfold in amusement.

He storms to the two and grabs Ikuma’s wrist. He unwraps it from Hide’s waist. Ikuma winces at the tight grip Kaneki has on him.

“What the hell, man?” Ikuma tries to pull his hand away from Kaneki.

“Don’t even try it.” Kaneki’s voice is low and threatening. Right now, he’s Eyepatch. The half ghoul cracks a knuckle as his glare remains on Ikuma.

“Kaneki? What’s wrong?” Hide asks, brows furrowed. He praises himself mentally for not flinching when Kaneki’s mismatched eyes look at him. “Kaneki-Hey!”

Kaneki grabs Hide and drags him away from the party. The others watch on in concern and relief. Concern for Hide and relief for Kaneki finally making a move.

“Dude, knock it off-“ Hide is cut off when Kaneki’s lips crash into his. They aren’t even out of the room yet. They’re just in the corner. This is intentional. Kaneki’s making a statement to everyone. The half ghoul opens his ghoul eye to stare at Ikuma. It narrows into a glare as if saying, “Hide’s off limits.”

Hide can’t believe this! He’s had a crush on Kaneki for so long. That’s why he never kisses Kaneki’s cheek. He’s too embarrassed to try, but now Kaneki is kissing him. Kaneki is KISSING him! Hide feels so high with emotions. His face is bright red, no doubt. He kisses back gladly.

When the reality of the situation comes back, Hide realizes that his lungs are burning. He tries to breathe through his nose but it’s not enough. It’s not working. The blond whines and tries to shake his head to get Kaneki off of him. To alert him that he needs air. It doesn’t work either. Kaneki refuses to budge in the slightest. The half ghoul wraps his arms around Hide, holding him closer. Hide’s mind is swimming. Sounds are becoming muffled and distant. The human’s vision is becoming blurry with darkened edges. He’s gonna pass out from kissing Kaneki!

And he does. Hide goes limp in Kaneki’s arms. It takes a moment for the ghoul to realize this. He jolts and breaks the kiss.

“Hide?” Kaneki asks in worry.

“Good job, idiot. You made him pass out from the lack of air.” Nishiki facepalms. “Happy New Year, dumbass.”

“Okay, so let me get this straight,” Hide rubs the bridge ofhis nose while closing his eyes. Why are these men so acclimated for themornings? It’s not even seven yet, and they’ve already given Hide a migraine. “Youroldest brother, Ken, whom is the leader of the notorious gang, Aogiri Tree, hasbeen released from prison?”

“Yes.” Shiro nods.

“He was sent there for manslaughter, so his time thereshould’ve been a minimum of thirty-five years?” Hide continues.

“Well, yes and no. Sometimes it can be ten years when otherfactors are put into play.” Haise holds his chin in thought.

“So, he weaseled himself into getting less time in prison.”Hide states.

“Pretty much, yeah.” Kaneki nods, pushing his glasses up totheir proper place on his nose.

“So, to put it simply, he’s a dangerous man.” Hide puts hishands on his hips.

“Very dangerous.” Shiro confirms.

“And you want to give him a home here?” Hide arches a brow.

“Yes.” They say at once.

“… Well it was nice living with you all. I’ll leave my halfof the rent on the kitchen counter. You can wipe my credentials off your phoneand stay clear from my family.” Hide goes to the desk in the living room andopens a drawer. He pulls out his checkbook and a pen and gets to work.

“Hey. Hey. Hey. None of that, okay?” Haise plucks the checkbookfrom Hide’s hands. “I thought you liked, Ken? You did when you were younger. Hewas your favorite in fact.”

“Yeah. You used to go to him for help instead of me orHaise.” Kaneki crosses his arms. “Whether it was a nightmare or bullies, youalways went to Ken. Hell, you made him a flower ring and made him promise tomarry you when you both grew up.”

“That was so long ago! That was before he turned out the wayhe did!” Hide’s face is red. He tried to forget that.

“Come on. You know he wouldn’t hurt you.” Kuro rubs Hide’sback.

“But I’m an omega now. What if-“

“He may be the leader of a gang. He may have killed somepeople, but Ken has a code he lives by. He would never put his hands on you.”Kaneki says seriously. “Not without your consent.”

“Yeah. Why do you think he killed that man in the firstplace and got sent to jail? That man tried to kidnap you, so Ken went all out.”Shiro points out. “Ken loves you like we do.”

“Ken is like a knock off version of Deadpool.” Hide mumblesunder his breath.

“Yes, and you’re his Spider-Man.” Haise pats Hide’s head.

“Fine, but I’m not going to act like I like him or anything.I probably won’t even talk to him.” Hide pouts.

“That’s fair.” Haise smiles and goes to the kitchen. “He’llbe here soon. I’ll get started on breakfast. You get washed up.”

“He’s already on his way!?” Hide panics.

“You don’t expect him to sit andwait at the jail, do you?” Shiro chuckles. Hide just whines and storms to thebathroom.

Hide takes his time in the shower. He lets the warm waterease the tension in his muscles. The blond picks up his personal favorite bodywash and gets to work. The sand exfoliating body scrub strips away the deadskin and makes his body all smooth. Hide uses Haise’s favorite shampoo to spitehim. The omega uses Kaneki’s favorite conditioner for the same reason. Also, he’llsmell like them, so it’s a huge plus.

When the shower starts to run cold, Hide reluctantly turnsoff the water. He reaches through the curtains for the towel. Once acquired,Hide wipes down his body and then ties said towel around his waist. The omegathen grabs another towel and scrubs his hair dry.

Hide opens the bathroom door, and steam wafts out and intothe rest of the apartment. He can smell an assortment of foods from the kitchen.He hears the alphas bickering with each other about what else they should makeand who gets to sit next to Hide at the table. The blond can’t help but smile.

He moseys to his bedroom and gets dressed. He’s not sureexactly what he should wear. Should Hide wear something nice or something casual?It’s just Ken, and it’s not like Hide needs to really impress him. Casual itis. Hide drops the towel around his waist on the bed and opens his dresser. Hegrabs a pair of boxers and is in the middle of putting them on when he hearssomeone whistle.

“Wowee, baby boy. You grew into a fine piece of ass.” A deepvoice praises from behind Hide. The omega spins around and his breath catchesin his throat. “Little man could use some work though.”

Hide yelps and quickly finishes putting on his underwear.

“I don’t see the point in covering up. I’ve seen it all now.Let me finish studying that bod, so I can draw it later. Don’t worry, I wouldn’tuse it for anything more than stress relief.” Ken smirks.

The alpha is leaning against the doorway with his shoulder.His arms are crossed, and his shoulders are broad. Ken has gotten much tallerand his build more defined. He didn’t waste time in prison, that’s for sure.Ken’s hair is a bit longer now. It’s brushing against his shoulders. He could probablyput it back into a small ponytail if he tried.

“Don’t you know to knock?” Hide asks, irritated.

“Sorry. Can’t say that I do.” Ken’s smirk only grows wider.

“I suggest you brush up on it.”

The two stare at each other in silence before Ken pushes offfrom the doorway and walks towards Hide.

“You’ve gotten taller.” Ken observed. “Have my littlebrothers been treating you well?”

“Yeah.” Hide answers, not taking his eyes off of Ken in casehe tries to pull something.

“Why are you acting so cold? I thought you’d love to see me.”Ken gives puppy eyes.

“Yeah, well, people change.”

“Indeed, they do.” Ken’s eyes soften. There’s another beatof silence before Ken turns away. “I came to tell you that breakfast is almostready. Hurry and get dressed.”

The alpha exits the room without waiting for Hide torespond. Hide lets out a breath he didn’t realize he was holding. He tries tocalm down his sprinting heart. Ken is unpredictable. Hide doesn’t know what toexpect from him. What were the others thinking, letting Ken live here? He’sgoing to bring his problems here. Their lives are at risk now, aren’t they?

“Also, about that drawing thing, I was joking. My art skillssuck ass.” Ken pops his head in the room. A pillow smashes into the alpha’sface.

“Would you get out!” Hide shouts.
