I remember you made an AU where Jodie!Howard replaced WE!Howard, and the voices were still in her head. Maybe Jodie!Howard had a panic attack but suddenly stands up, seemingly fine, and then speaks to Joan with WE!Howard voice “You know nobody loves you” or something like that. It just seems really angsty.

Oooh that’s such a cool idea!!

Imagine if right before that, as she stands up, her grey-green eyes roll to the back of her head and then come back dark brown. The color of Aimie!Howard’s eyes. And then Aimie!Howard’s voice is coming out of Jodie!Howard’s mouth and just— oh, that would be so traumatizing for poor Joey!! I mean, and Kat, what with being a passenger in her own body and having no free will, but Joey!! Especially if she was just starting to trust and even like Kat. And this happens. And she can’t go near her after that- she can’t even look her in the eyes because she’s terrified of seeing them as that burning, evil shade of dark brown.

Imagine if Kat had pinned Joan against the wall- Aimie!Howard had always marveled at her new body in the back of Jodie!Howard’s mind and now she can see what it could really do.

Since Joan’s eyes had been a big theme in the fic, imagine her pressing her thumbs close to Joan’s eyes as she tells her terrible things and Joan can’t struggle because she’s so scared of getting her eyes gouged out. Or maybe Kat grabs her by the throat or strangles her as “revenge” for not helping her in court. Whatever she does, Jodie!Howard can only watch through dark brown eyes as her past self practically tortures a poor, helpless girl.

If I’m being honest, I really don’t want this to be AOS heavy - I want it to be something that can be read without having any prior knowledge of AOS other than the fact that Coulson is alive. That way, anyone who just really wants another Endgame fix-it will be able to read without feeling like they need to have seen AOS.
