Remember my niece ? The one who never watch where she goes and we always have to hastily grab to prevent her to fall/collide with furniture/cross the street without watching ?
She began school in Montréal last week. On monday her mom had to bring her home at noon because she had a cold and vomited then fainted, yesterday (Friday 13th, ahah) she was back in school... and she managed to fall because, as usual, she was not looking where she was going :D Her lower lip was torn and a tooth broken, so yeap, let’s go visit the hospital. D:
At this point I have to remind you my brother and his family emigrated only last month (to the day !) to Canada. When they arrived they were told the French administration did a mistake on some papers and thus the children would not have free healthcare until next November. My brother considered (like, a minute) to subscribe to health insurance in the meantime but... “bah ! nothing will happen !”.
So ! Imagine you’re in a new country, not aware of how the health system exactly works and you’re used to (mostly) free/reimbursed healthcare, you have a bleeding child with you and, first things first, they ask you to pay 720$ to be admitted in the ER... My bro nearly fainted ^^; He “fought” with his insurance and will they say he will be reimbursed... but he’ll “believe it when [he] sees it !”
In the end she didn’t need stitches and they’ve been to a dental clinic today : her broken tooth doesn’t have internal damage, it’s only an aesthetic problem, but my niece will have to wait two months for it to be taken care of (freely).
Thank you French administration, you’re really the best, even when one is trying to leave you ! ^^;
Don't worry kiddo, I will soon travel down and save you from the mad ones😂😘
Niece: *runs into dining room/living room with a coke then goes to the living room in front of my mum*
Mum: Where'd you get that?
Niece: My mommy gave this to me. *drinks more* (she's 4)
Mum: You shouldn't be having those. They rot your teeth.
Niece: But mommy gave it to me.
MuM: You're addicted. They're bad for you.
Niece: But my mommy gave me it. *drinks more*
Mum: But its not good for you.
Niece: Mommy gave me it. *takes a sip & walks away till she's in front of me* Mommy gave me this coke. *gives me an "innocent" smile*
Me: It doesn't matter if your mom gave it to you, its still very bad for you.
Niece: *Frowns & goes to room with her mom*
