It always interests me how people not on govt support don't realize how hard it is to get ANY help. Like, me and my S/O swung down to the assistance office yesterday to submit an application again because I apparently didn't sign a single point on a form, and they were like "Cool, so your EBT and medical assistance will be back on tomorrow, right?"
Bud.
I had to explain to them that no, my stuff won't be back on tomorrow, they most likely will review it tomorrow with a fine toothed comb, find at least 4 things they need "more details" on, call me at odd hours when I don't have my phone on me, play phone tag for two weeks, review additional paperwork I've sent in, call me asking for more info, find another descrepency, and I might, if I'm lucky, have those services restored by late April / Early May.
They were flabbergasted and asked "How do they think you'll be able to eat during all that???" And I had to tell them the unfortunate truth is they don't care.
