''Taking Her Little Notes''
I tried and I didn't entirely fail. Don't judge, I decided to try and paint a person in watercolour. I've barely used watercolours before. Stupid? Yes. Brave? Also yes.

The vulnerability in this scene 😭
Episode: irresistible
I love the season nine episodes 4-D and Audrey Pauley, but one time someone told me “imagine if we got those episodes with Mulder and Scully instead” and it ruined me 🥲
I also find it so fascinating that in both episodes, Scully is so quick to tell the healthy partner that “there is nothing that can be done” for the injured one. She just experienced a miracle with Mulder, and she never would have given up if it were him, but she is resolute here
I know it’s because Doggett and Reyes respectively have to go through a crisis of faith where they have to acknowledge the supernatural elements at play, and Scully has to act as the rational, scientific foil for them — but it’s still jarring to see her refuse other possibilities
At the end of the day, she so badly wants to protect other people from the pain of waiting for something that isn’t likely to come. She knows how cruel false hope can be and wants to spare them, even if the alternative is just as painful
“Scully, you are the only one I trust.”
