okay i couldn't split these lines up so, here's a part i wrote for my shoko oneshot ("like a ghost that won't wash off your skin"):

Normally, Shoko could handle the solitude. She was used to being alone, left behind. But this was different; she was completely alone at Jujutsu High. The students were off doing work that the higher-ups should’ve been doing in the first place. She couldn’t stop them even if she wanted to. Inumaki and Todo had barely recovered before they left her morgue. They left quickly, stopping to say thank you but barely stopping to say goodbye. She couldn’t blame them, not really.

Who would want to be left behind and out of the action?
