=^.^= I was making popcakes using a 1926 white cake recipe and a few friends asked for it, so here goes: (translated from French) Gâteau Blanc - White Cake 1/2 cup of soft butter 1 3/4 cup of white flour 1/4 teaspoon of salt 3 egg whites 2 teaspoon of baking powder 1/2 cup of milk 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract 1 cup of white sugar First: In a small bowl, whip the egg whites until firm. Add half of the sugar and whip some more. (whip ‘em good!) =^.^= Second: In a larger bowl, mix the warm soft butter with the rest of the sugar. Gradually add the sifted flour, the baking powder, the salt, the vanilla extract and the milk. Mix well. Third: Add the whipped egg whites and softly fold them in the paste with a fork. Once it’s all smooth, you can pour it in whatever mold you had planned for it. You need to cook it at 350°F / 177° C Cooking time depends on how deep your mold is. It’s usually cooked when the top becomes yellowish. Stab it with a knife or a toothpick to check if the inside is cooked I really love that white cake recipe ^^ It’s light and fluffy, and if you happen to cook it for too long, it turns into a delicious cookie texture ;)
