And that concludes the deepening session. A lot of data still needs to be acquired, but I'll find a way. 🙏🏻💆🏻♂️😁 #popcom #popdev #DSEIS
"Crossroads"
So we watched "Crossroads" at school today. The movie was produced by the Population Commission. Us being a public school in a tiny island somewhere in Mindanao, were very lucky for this kind of opportunity. The film focused mainly on different aspects that usually happens in every regular teenager nowadays. The timeline was divided into two--- the character's last year in high school and their last year in college. Their's was the usual story of kids who leads different lives. Typical stories of Filipino teenagers who goes trough the ups and downs of life. Poverty stricken teen who does everything just to survive even for she got a single mom who acts as if she's also a teenager (one whose a drunkard with papalit-palit live-in partners). A young couple who struggles on losing their-------future that is because.. well, they engaged in premarital sex (one-time daw) which resulted to early pregnancy problem is, the guy was really super iresponsible(lemme just say this, ANG GAGO NUNG LALAKI!) . The teenage Juno was Julia, played by Zoe Sandejas. A graduating student who aspires to be a singer but unfortunately, her boyfriend slash DOTA addict, NBA wannabe boyfriend was irresponsible and was not serious with their situation. Her boyfriend was Alex, a basketball guy who's irresponsible and limme just say this again, FREAKIN IRRESPONSIBLE!!! In Julia's words:" MINSAN KA NA NGA LANG MAKA-SHOOT SA AKIN PA!" The other couple were Ben and Kristine. Typical teenagers. Kristine, habulin ng boys, papalit-palit ng crushes and boyfriend and Ben, 6th of eleven siblings, laki sa hirap and future class valedictorian. Right before they graduated, Julia gave birth while singing at their graduation rites. Ben and Kristine broke up and uhm well, Melai still struggled on how to pay her bills. After some years, (3 ata?) Melai (GUMANDA), Kristine (EWAN. AMPANGIT NA NYA. MUKHANG MATANDANG LOSYANG), and Julia (DITCHED HER TEEANAGE HEADBANDS TO WIDE MANANG HEADBANDS) still went to the same colege. As the story went on, it was revealed that Julia had a baby boy with Alex (who surprisingly was still an IRRESPONSIBLE STUPID SON OF A B*TCH) did not received any "sustento" from iresponsableng ex who still hides behind his mom's saya. Melai became almost like her mom. I'm sure if she became a prostitute but she went to a manghihilot to ask for an abortion but chickened out at the last minute and ran only to find out that she had a miscarriage. Ben is now a working student who became a perpetual night owl (sleeps at class because he works as a call center agent). And Kristine. Oh my God. The oh-so beautiful Kristine from high school looked like a 40 year old drug addict who always looks as if her life depended on ecstasy and alcoholic drinks. She ignores Ben who for some reasons is still in love with her even though she looks more like his mother than her ex. The story ends with Alex asking Julia for another shot in their relationship. Kristine realizing her bad behaviors and habits after dozing off (for two effin days)in an abandoned warehouse after a night of ecstasy (i think) . Melai asking her mom (Miss ANgola tawag nya) if/to attend her graduation. Julia's dad finally forgiving her. And with Ben closing the credits with his graduation speech. Only the seniors were allowed to watch the movie. Being the PopDev Club president (for the second time around), I was the one who gave the first reaction about the movie. So my words were: Bisaya yun so in short it was something like: " May mga bagay na ginagawa natin dahil lang sa trip natin o dahil sa wala lang. Mga bagay na minsan di na natin iniisip yung pwedeng outcome. Pero in the end pala, pagsisisihan natin ng sobra. AWESOME MOVIE!!!!!!!!
