Wax Flower or Hoya is either fragrant or produces heaps of nectar (Hoya carnosa) native to Eastern Asia and Australia. Our inside hydroponic hoya has flowers that are covered with sweet nectar this week without the strong perfume. They usually flower from the end of the same spike but can also make new shoots and flower spikes. Really easy to propagate, layering or cuttings. The cascading stems of Hoya linearis (wax flower, porcelain flower) was thriving in this warm, humid glasshouse. The plant is native to the Himalayas and needs to maintain temperatures above 10C in winter.

Three generations of Wax Flower, Hoya (Hoya carnosa) native to Eastern Asia and Australia. Here you can see a forty year old grandma plant, its 20 year old daughter and a new variegated shoot that has been successfully struck that is growing new shoots. They usually flower from the end of the same spike but can also make new shoots and flower spikes. Really easy to propagate, layering or cuttings. Lots of new spikes on the Wax Flower, Hoya (Hoya carnosa) native to Eastern Asia and Australia. This is another good show of flowers and new buds this year. It usually flowers from the end of the same spike but it’s also making lots of new shoots and flower spikes. Really easy to propagate, layering or cuttings, it grows in the ground, in pots and hydroponically like this one. Hoya is also very good at removing indoor pollutants.
