Around level 6, we played a beholder best-to-three in a card game he "invented", and I volunteered since... I had no spell slots anyway....... We won, saved his life after, all became friends, and he gave us stuff 17 years later. Love that guy.

Attention Arthurian Blogs
Hey, Arthurian blogs! Have any of you ever read Porius by John Cowper Powys? It's set in Wales in 499 AD. It has several Arthurian characters, namely Myrddin Wyllt (Merlin), Nineue (Nimue/Vivien), Medrawd (Mordred), Galahaut (Galahad), and King Arthur (Amherawdr/Emperor Arthur) himself. None of them are the "main" character (the title character isn't even the main character). It's dense and long and I'm sure a decent amount of it is going over my head, but it's also beautiful. I've never seen any of these characters portrayed in such a way. I still have over 400 pages in this monster of a book but I already don't want it to end.
So, have any of you read it?
