Netting the Waters, a documentary by Daryl Granger (he literally does everything!), explores commercial fishing on Lake Erie near Port Dover. With documentaries, you sometimes wonder if they really capture what life is like - this one does. We watched it with Wheatley fishermen, and one of them said, "That's my life up there on the screen!" It’s already won several international awards. The doc is currently playing in a few independent theaters in Ontario; it’s definitely worth seeing on the big screen because the cinematography is beautiful. It’s not available on streaming, but there’s some interesting behind-the-scenes footage available if you want a glimpse before you go.
Sharing you the inspirations for my recent look ♡
