OMG, this home in St. Paul, Minnesota has the most beautiful porte-cochere. Inside, it’s gorgeous, too. Built in 1882, it has had a few face-lifts over the years,” says the listing agent, “In the 1920s, the owners added the large ‘catslide’ porte-cochere.” On the market for $2,375,000, the home spans five lots on just over an acre of land.
I would love to drive thru here to get to the garage every day.
View of the roof from the side- you can ski down this thing.
This home is perfectly preserved and is it ever classy. Look at the lovely entrance hall.
This living room may be large, but it’s cozy. Look at the ceiling!
I would make this sunroom a beautiful conservatory.
Off the living room is the formal dining room.
The kitchen was completely remodeled, but it still has wainscoting and bold new crown molding. The choice of wall finish gives it a sophisticated vintage look, so it’s not a bad reno.
Isn’t this the most classy kitchen eating area? I thought it was a man cave or game room, at first, b/c the real estate photos are always out of order.
Pretty bedroom with original lighting.
The remodeled bath includes a modern shower, but still retains original features.
This bedroom has a nice built-in. It could be used as a home office or craft room.
This room has a wonderful alcove and the light fixture is so intricate and gorgeous.
The halls are light and airy- no creepy stuff here. A line of new lighting brightens it up and there’s a double door closet for linens.
I would say that this is the main bedroom b/c it’s the largest. It has lovely columns and room for a sitting area by a picture window.
This has to be the library/man cave. Rich wood walls, built-in shelving and a marble fireplace. You’d have to take up pipe smoking and wearing a silk robe in here.
This is great- there’s a light and bright studio apt. Rental income!
They set up a gym in the basement. This is no spooky old basement.
There’s also a beautiful, modern sauna.
I would sit out here all summer.
Wouldn’t this be a wonderful place to entertain? It’s like an outdoor restaurant.
Even the back of this home looks beautiful. If I had $2 mil., this would be the one I’d spend it on. I was horrified, though- this is what the agent said, “I received phone calls from a few people, and one in particular who was excited to buy it and tear it down. I was actually shaking for about an hour-and-a-half, feeling terrified that my job is now to find a buyer who will not do that to this home.”
Palácio do Governo, Praia, Cabo Verde. Pretty severe ‘shield’ or maybe ‘hood’ signifying the lobby, sloping down to a thick triple-arched porte-cochere shading the entrance.
