I took the RAW image into Photoshop and used Curves and the Dodge and Burn tools to create a more contrasting image and cancel out the flatness scene in the original image.

Environmental Portrait Evaluation
I had great difficulty finding a client/maker to allow me to take there picture. I was either refused due to being a student, they didn't have time or they didn't respond all together. I was extremely frustrated due to this. However, I was able to get in contact with the seamstress Helen Park. Park is a part-time seamstress who doesn’t sell her dresses to the public. Parks’ creations are for her daughters and herself. She created a studio out of one of the spare rooms within her house. The space was quite cluttered which made it difficult setting up the image as there wasn’t much room to move around. I struggled with the lighting aspect of this project as within the brief it states you are to use natural light. In the end I used two flashes, lamps that were already lighting the room and natural light. This meant I didn’t have to up my ISO to high. I kept in mind that the image was to be taken as though for a two page spread in a magazine so I positioned my model to the left of the image. Even though I found the project frustrating I am happy with my images and was glad to learn more about Mrs Parks and her work.
