Psychosis is a real illness and not something that should be used to insult people even if they are "strange" and have "weird" interests in objects. For some psychosis plays a role for some it does not. Either way it is a real mental illness not a derogatory statement to throw at somebody.

And for the objectum and posis communities can we stop acting like being compared to psychotic people is the worst thing?

This is my latest strongest attachment to an object. I view her as a girl with she/her pronouns. When I ordered her I thought she would be empty but instead she came with 100 pre wound bobbins. I've taken time to organize them and have been sleeping with her in the space by my bed. I haven't wanted her very far from where my space is. I think part of my attachment is that she's new. Another part is I found the perfect shade of brown I needed for an anniversary crossstich present I'm making for my fiance. Some part of me is viewing this as a great kindness even though logically I know I bought her. She's very pretty to look at and I'm going to try to use up as much thread as I can so that I can store my other thread in her. I think I'm also going to decorate her outside with stickers.

I feel like talking about one of my object personifications. For new people my mind views inanimate objects as living things with unique personalities in a platonic fashion.

This is my kindle paperwhite with case and page turner. I view the Kindle and case as the same but the page turner as seperate. The Kindle paperwhite is a 2018 model I got refurbished a few years ago for like $40. I picked the 8gb model but they sent me the 32 gb model. Lucky. Shortly after I got it it's case which I've been using ever since. I like that it gives it a library feel. The Kindle gives off a calming energy that helps me settle in. It feels very accepting with all of its accessibility features.

The page turner feels perky. It helps me turn pages without hurting my thumb.

The next object I want to talk about is Rosie. My partner got this for Valentines Day when I requested a "bear made out of roses". I see her as using she/he/they pronouns. With a needy but comforting personality. My biggest struggle with this one is that I tend to view them as in distress when they fall off the bed which is often. This can cause me to pause for several minutes as I get stuck between the urge to do something and the urge to brush it off bc she's just an object. I think to work in lign with therapy where I now respect objects in order to not encourage discarding others needs I will put her on the shelf by my bed when she's not in use. She'll still be in arms reach and easy site. But I won't have to keep a close eye on her
