Well, big deal!!! You better make lots of UGLY and sincere things! Permission granted!!! And then what will you do? You'll make more. And some will be "UGLY " and some won't. And you'll break new ground. And you'll grow. The range of your voice will grow and grow, wider and deeper. Your range of expression will expand. Your vocabulary of shapes and forms will expand. YOU will expand. And you will ACCIDENTALLY stumble upon beauty--- through allowing it-- more often than by forcing it. The very first art lesson i teach is the first one i leanred at #parsons when i was 20. Make the drawing, then smear it all over the place with your hand. That's where the liberation starts.
