I'm working on this concept of "decolonising" my beauty. Trying to minimise face make up, only using mascara or eyeliner for occasions. Haven't dyed my hair in over 12 months. Washing my hair less often and using natural oils etc. Not straightening my hair. It's just a little exercise I wanted to try. Just to be a little bit more conscious of the choices I make around "beauty" products and take time to reflect on the trigger for wanting to alter my natural state of being. The whole industry relies on women not being comfortable in their true form. I'm trying to unlearn this conditioning of how I'm "supposed" to "get ready" / present myself to go out in the world.
