Turn Nerves Into Excitement (an analysis)
This is a bit random and out of the blue but can we just talk about Tom’s “turn nerves into excitement” motto for a second. Cause we don’t appreciate it enough. Technically, it isn’t Tom’s quote, but he introduced it to us and he lives by it, so I think it’s fair that it needs more recognition.
In a literal sense, it’s telling you to take your nervousness and make yourself excited for what’s to come. But there’s so much behind it as well and it really needs to be broken down to truly understand it. It’s hard to spell it out cause its meaning will change for each person, but I’ll try my best.
For me, it took an experience to actually understand the influence of this quote on my life, without even realising it had. So let’s get into that. Looking back on the past semester of uni, I was dreading a lot of things; I wasn’t sure if I was in the right degree, I doubted my skills and knowledge and I was worried it just wouldn’t work out. You can literally go back through my posts and find me mentioning how much I was scared of university. But I’ve just realised that I managed to take those doubts and worries and find a positive instead. It sounds stupid, but it’s what I did. I thought of how I was getting a chance to learn new skills and explore different possibilities, and finally get a chance to begin to grow as an adult, not a child. I tried to keep a positive outlook on my university experience. And honestly, I think that’s what helped me get through my first semester, turning a negative thought into a positive experience. I subconsciously took his motto, and made it a part of my daily routine, and it took me nearly 6 months to realise it. I managed to focus on why I was in the courses and why I would enjoy them, not dread them. Having a positive outlook on your daily life can help you realise your potential and what you can achieve if you stop worrying about the smallest issues and anxieties. Some days are harder than others, but just a little glimmer of hope and ‘excitement’ can help you get through the day.
So, I’m forever grateful to Tom for not only being one of the best and most wholesome influences in my life, but also teaching me to “turn nerves into excitement”, cause it really does help.

Positivi-tea on Teapot Tuesday
Some of the best ideas come from the internet, don’t they? People are so free to share ideas and information online and even though sometimes, just sometimes, it isn’t true, there are a lot of fun things to find online. Awhile ago I found this cute little project that I knew my niece could do. She crochets. I don’t . If you remember she made me my fabulous beach afghan that goes with me on all of…
