If you wanna know about my life....
Things in my life right now
-I quit work. I have been having trouble working for quite some time but I was doing my best to stick it out because I really loved the job. When it got to the point that my love for the job was not enough for me to stay, especially including a terrible coworker and my department suddenly deciding to make everything inaccessible, I realized it was time to leave.
-I’m starting the SSDI application.
-I’m going to a new neurologist on May 12th super early in the morning. At first I wasn’t certain what was going on with my hands. They just started out having tremors and stiff achey pain, but has now progressed to the electrical, tingling, stabby, and burning pain that’s extraordinarily similar to CRPS pain. I’m thinking it’s a spread. On the one hand, if my hands are affected it will make applying for disability easier. On the other hand it fucking sucks. (see look i made a pun).
I’m really hoping this neurologist is decent. If he is, I want to see if I can start going to the pain management center at the same place. As much as I dislike going to doctors and trying new meds, I’m at the point where I can’t not do it anymore. While I still love and need my turmeric supplements it’s just not enough anymore.
-I think I’ve figured out that my fairly chronic nausea and fatigue are all parts of CRPS. I have yet to find anything that helps with the fatigue, but at least my acupuncture appointments help with the nausea. We haven’t done any nausea points in a few weeks and I’m starting to feel pretty shitty again, but luckily I have acupuncture today.
-I recently went to the Abilities Expo in New Jersey. I discovered that a smart drive, which would’ve been helpful had my hands not be getting worse, is no longer helpful enough for me, but I found out that the Spinergy ZX-1 power add on will work perfectly for me and the Ki Mobility Rogue chair that I’m getting.
-Lexa is doing absolutely fabulous with her service dog training. She went to three days of the expo with me, barked a total of twice at the other service dogs, and was able to do downstays very well, a couple of them nearly an hour long. We’ve also started on her retrieving training and are having her petco trainer help us learn how to train her correctly for it.
She knows speak! She’s picked up a couple things off the floor and handed them to me. When I’m with her in the car, she leans her head on my lap (adorable and helpful). She’s just doing absolutely fabulous and I am so so proud of her.
And so yeah that’s my life rn
