Ok no, so I was reading through my old unpublished response notes and saw something replying to a take that Neve should have had an arc about overcoming her biases towards slavery ie slipping up and calling Bellara a knife ear or something just because she (Neve) was from Tevinter. And like no. For so many reasons. Some of which I am going to list here for your perusal.
A) It is pretty explicitly stated that what we know of Tevinter has been very distorted through second and third hand or wildly skewed first hand accounts. (Most probably having interacted with more ‘important’ upper class diplomatic members of Tevinter society, ie the ones more likely to own slaves)
B) No country is a monolith especially one so big as Tevinter and definitely not in a city so massive as Minrathous. Not to put too political a point on it but not all Germans in the early 20th century were Nazis.
C) Why again are we mad that we got to interact with good people? I’m not saying everyone has this experience but I definitely have found seven friends who do not always get along but also aren’t bigots, like, it is possible.
