alt!renard is interesting i jsut dont have much info to go by (can u give us newcomers a summary)
OK I’ll try to give a summary but this might be long
once upon a time ago on minerva there was an ass mcdougal dick piece of shit called taranis. he was the first thunder mage and he gave rise to thunder magic. taranis was different from the other thunder mages, in that he was a walking talking power source (whereas the typical thunder mage can be compared to a battery). taranis was a conqueror who sought to unite all of minerva under his iron rule but thankfully he got killed. it was revealed later on the reason he was different from an every day thunder mage was because of his electrified heart which went under like, years of study and then
someone had a cool idea
"hey what if we try to make more taranises? i mean just imagine how handy that’ll be to our armies"
"wow brah thats a good idea"

and this idea lead to centuries of thunder mages (the countries being most notorious for this were enguis, daricea and kapirance) being captured and experimented on, trying to make “another taranis”. all their experimentations failed to yield a result
and then the kapir had a break through. they managed to create an elixir that forced thunder mages to “ascend” (every mage can do this tho). after many failures they managed to creator another like taranis but she died shortly after. daricea and enguis eventually began copying the kapir and yeah this lead to a history of dead thunder mages.
so where does alt!renard fit in all of this?
in the original timeline, he flees his home country (daricea) because a war was happening and he didnt. really want to be involved in war. so he fled to kapirance. but after awhile war eventually came to kapirance and he was forced into fighting. with a catch.
he had to take that elixir and go out there. and “ascending” is a very, very painful experience for a mage. this went on for weeks until he became like taranis, and miraculously survived.
but two other ocs of mine, vahn and levi found out a few days later the kapir were going to experiment on him. and thats where this timeline deviates. in the original they never told him. in this one they told him and helped him escape kapirance.
Anyways, so a lot of awful shit happened following the war (including the revival of a death god) and alt!renard survived that as well. he was later found in the country of balastuka by levi, who tried to get him to flee to tethys because levi found out alt!renard is being hunted by both the kapir and the dariceans.
unfortunately he got captured by the dariceans and was then subjected to a series of grueling, stressful experiments (the stress of it all turned his hair grey and because he was constantly surrounded by magical energies his eyes turned a stormy blue and yeah thats a really unpleasant thing to experience i think). eventually he manages to escape though but the experience really changed him for the worst.i cant sum up their personalities easily but original timeline renard was a very happy, positive man but alt!renard is just a savage, cunning anti-hero and even then he eventually falls out of anti-hero territory.anyways, alt!renard finds out what happened to him is happening to other thunder mages all over, and he’s like “Revolt” but even then his supposed uprising turned into a bloody crusade and
