Final Thoughts: “Vigilante”

Aside from a few technical questions, this is another solid entry into Arrow’s much-improved fifth season. I liked how character-driven it was. And though the villain wasn’t the best we’ve seen, he still managed to be intriguing. With a lame code-name like Vigilante, the odds were set against him.

Also, that twist with Evelyn came out of nowhere.

Oliver was pretty quick to realize Prometheus may know his identity. That was only revealed to us 2 episodes ago.

If I’m not mistaken, this is the first time Curtis has referred to himself as Mr. Terrific.

Final Thoughts: “So It Begins”

I thought this was a really solid episode in all aspects. The connections drawn here to Oliver’s past life really emphasized how much he’s grown in a way that most episodes have struggled to convey. Some people may still see him as a murderer, but he is growing and evolving.

In addition, I thought it was nice to get some more focus on Evelyn. All the other recruits have at least had one episode where they are highlighted, and this was Evelyn’s turn. She’s been largely in the background, but she was center stage for most of tonight’s episode (at least where it involved the recruits).

So now we’ve met Constantine Kovar. This should be interesting.

I’m hoping we know exactly who Prometheus is before the midseason finale.

I was a little surprised to see Green Arrow at the crime scene when it was still so populated.
