Overall Thoughts:

It’s weird hearing Oliver without a voice modulator. No voice modulator, grease paint instead of a real mask. Sweet summer child, you have so much to learn.

How many times do you think Oliver has stitched himself up? I don’t think he uses any anesthetics. He still winces, but I’d be bawling on the floor in pain. 5 years in hell will do that to ya.

How early do you think the writers started planning the Bratva arc for season 5? We learn early on that Oliver’s part of Bratva. Was that detail something they were always planning on circling back to, or were they in the writers’ room one day and remembered that they’d sewn that little seed and decided to make it significant?

Yes, Ollie, a baseball cap is absolutely all you need for a disguise. Who do you think you are, Clark Kent?

I’m too scared of ink poisoning to get a tattoo on my wrist. Meanwhile, Deadshot just tattoos names all over his body without even flinching. 

Do you think he’s ever accidentally spelled someone’s name wrong? What if he wrote Steven instead of Stephen or Sean instead of Shawn? It’s not like he could just show up at a tattoo removal place without needing to answer a lot of questions.

I’m glad Oliver didn’t make a huge scene when Thea told him about Laurel and Tommy. (Even if he already knew.) He lost any say in the matter when he ran off with Sara.

Do you think Tommy would have started making an effort to change if Oliver hadn’t come home? I think so. Regardless, I think seeing his best friend turn his life around inspires him to try even harder to be a better person.

Max Fuller looks familiar? Wasn’t he on When Calls the Heart?

HE WAS!!! I hated Charles so freaking much!! Why does Marcus Rosner have such a punchable face?

Tommy trying to protect Oliver from Fuller’s men had such little brother/puppy dog energy. It’s endearing how brave he wants to be, despite his complete lack of experience.

Laurel swooping in to save both Tommy’s and Oliver’s butts was a lovely little hint of foreshadowing that I really appreciated. 

Set designers had a heyday with every action sequence in this show. Take a shot every time glass shatters.

EEEEEEEEEEEEP!!!! FELICITY AND THE RED PEN!!!!!!

I’m in the middle of my first watch-through of Supernatural.  In season 7, I met the iconic Charlie Bradbury. She and Felicity are the pointing Spider-Man meme, and I love them both so freaking much!! 

Comedic Gold

Oliver: I’m having some trouble with my computer, and they told me that you were the person to come and see. I was at my coffee shop surfing the web, and I spilled a latte on it.

Felicity: Really?

Oliver: Yeah

Felicity: Because these look like bullet holes.

Oliver: My coffee shop is in a bad neighbourhood.

I need someone to write a fic about the watercooler gossip around Queen Consolidated. Felicity was up to date on all of the tea. I need to know what other dirt her coworkers were dishing on the “royal” family.

Felicity: Look, I don’t want to get in the middle of some Shakespearean family drama thing.

Oliver: What?

Felicity: Steele marrying your mom. Claudius, Gertrude, [points to Oliver] Hamlet

Oliver: I didn’t study Shakespeare at any of the four schools I dropped out of.

Diggle and Carly ♥️ Even Oliver clocked it immediately. 

You know, waaay back in ancient times, if your husband died, it was his brother’s responsibility to marry and take care of you. 😏 Just sayin’.

If Carly’s husband was John’s brother, why does she also call John “Dig”? It would get super confusing around the holidays:

“Hey Dig,”

“Yes, dear?”

“No, sorry, I meant John.”

Idk. Make it make sense.

Queen Family Therapy

Moira tried to be a better parent in this episode. (Granted, Oliver had to call her out on her bull crap first.)

“When I was her age, you and Dad let me get away with murder. Looking back, I could have used less space and more parenting.”

Then, a little later, she had the nerve to say she didn’t need Oliver to tell her how to parent Thea. 🙄

Yas Queen!

Walter is the dad who stepped up. It’s no secret how much he loves Moira and Thea. You can see it in the way he talks to and about them both at the gala. I’m not a parent, let alone a widow, but if I were in Moira’s shoes, I’d feel very lucky to find someone who loves my children as if they were his own.

He carries himself in such a way that his presence demands respect. He has such confidence and dignity when the cops interrogate him (even though he should have gotten a lawyer before even agreeing to speak with law enforcement). 

What’s a man of such high caliber doing in Starling? Go run for president or something. (JK, don’t. You’re too pure for politics.)
