being a polish teen/ya is confusing as fuck bc on the one hand, you want to be all western: you want to keep up with the fashion trends and stuff. being called ‘eastern european’ triggers you, it’s an insult, and you don’t really want to live in this country, because of the government and the narrow-minded society. you want to escape. but then, your slavic nature says hi: the slavic heritage, the history, doing squats, the variety of vodka, all those childhood nostalgic memories when poland was free of communism and was doing its best to become a well developed country, but people were still lowkey poor in the early 00s. the history of your country, the rich culture, the food. and you’re just sitting here, not knowing how to feel or what to do.
