✉ FFXIV RP Letters / Postcards ✉

The concept is simple: Send IC letters/postcards to other characters (via Asks).

You don't have to handwrite them either. Why not pick a font that best represents your character's handwriting, and type it instead? Then just hand it to the Post Moogles (upload it to the recipient's Asks).

As with real life letters, there's no requirements on length, or frequency. You can write as much (or little) as you want, when you want.

If anyone sees this and wants to write any of my characters, please hit me up. I also highly encourage reaching out to others to see if they'd be interested in such a thing.

It could also be a fun to extend RP to characters that you've seen around, but never had a chance to interact with. Timezones and DC locations have no power here!!

Something you'll want to establish before you start writing though, is how your characters know each other. Could be they simply posted/read a notice on a board about penpals wanted. Or maybe they met previously? Maybe they grew-up together?

Why not choose parchment that suits your character? Maybe they like pretty patterned paper, and always have a ready supply of stationery to choose from.

Or maybe they travel a lot, and just use a page or two from an everyday notepad they keep with them.

Or could they be the type that frequently forgets to write, and maybe only has a napkin or back of a flyer to hand when they finally do remember?

You could write about anything you'd like. Whatever your OC gets up to, or thinks about, and is happy to share.

Fat Chocobo and Postmoogle

Again, I'm not a person fan of Final Fantasy, nor do I know much about it, but I know what a fat chocobo is  (・ω・)b  and when I was commissioned to draw one, I did my best. Big fan of the texture I added with this one as I wanted a more minimalistic, poster-style piece of art at the end of it.

So I was running through more Postmoogle stuff last night with D’riz and I get to the one where this guy’s trying to catch an ultra rare fish in order to sell it to a collector to like, rebuild his trading business after the Calamity destroyed it, right? Well, turns out you sorta have to fish for this quest. Granted, it’s like early level fishing stuff and all, no big deal, right? Except I still haven’t bothered to pick up fishing yet. I grabbed it, started the first quest for it and immediately dropped it, never to speak of it again. So you can imagine my embarrassment when I have to explain to D’riz that I can’t fish, not because I don’t have my rod or bait on me, but because it’s something I never learned how to do. D’riz, it should be noted, is like well on his way to becoming the master of all jobs. >_>; And being the ultra helpful guy he is, he’s sitting there offering to make me a rod or fetch me some bait so I can do the quest. XD I’m sheepishly like “Uh...no I mean, I literally can’t fish. I don’t know how. I never picked it up.” Which is really amusing, given Bee’s background growing up in a fishing village and the fact her dad’s a pretty good fishercatte himself. You’d think she’d have at least learned a bit of it, right? But! Instead of letting me just go buy an anchovy from the market, D’riz switches to FSH and grabs me one in the time it took me to politely decline and reassure him that I could just go get one from the market, that it wasn’t a big deal. (All the while standing on the poor guild master’s head, mind you) XD So the day was saved! A potato learned a lesson, I got some shiny, sparkly gold fishing pants (no seriously, the star-spangled subligar is hilarious) and we got a new bit of headcanon for our dear Bee. :3
