[The Tired King After The Battle]
Another early dawn, another outing. While Lucifer slept through the morning in order to recover, Sandalphon spread his wings and took to the now completely remodeled streets of Spirale. He had soon come to find an appreciation to the appropriately titled Golden Ward, providing him a convenient means to shop for his few paramount necessities--more specifically, exotic coffee roasts.
“I’ll be sure to show you one day. After all… I’m going to need more.”
His gaze narrowed just then as he descended from above the rooftops and landed gracefully on his worn heels. He’d decidedly walk from here, wanting to burn off some of the incoming agitation with some exercise.
Though he hardly ever let the words of a sinful cur influence him, there was a nagging sense of duty concerning his intentions; as cunning as he was, Belial was incapable of simply sitting around and abiding by any precedent. Even if his original intentions could not be fulfilled in a place like a contained island prison, certainly, he’d concoct some other demented plan...
“.... Nonsense.”
Sandalphon had already accepted the fact that his tranquil days had been short-lived. Ever since he had decided to rebel against Lucifer on that faithful day, he realized that happiness and joy were just as fleeting an emotion as his lingering pain and sadness. And in this moment, surrounded by the inevitable circumstances of further conflict, surely he had to rationally accept that loss could be unavoidable...
But what more could be taken from him, he wondered...--
“...-san..” “Sandalphon-san..!”
Snapping out of his contemplative stupor, a familiar padding of delicate feet was approaching him from the adjacent street. Long tresses of azure trailed behind her, streaking through the air like slices of the bright afternoon sky..
“Girl in Blue,” he addressed the young maiden per usual, turning to face her with an even gaze. “So you seem to have gotten out of that excursion harm free, I’m assuming? That’s good.”
Though he was expecting that same naive smile, he was only met with a largely distressed look from Lyria instead, momentarily confusing him as he had temporarily forgotten his own face still littered with bandages from his exchange with Belial.
“Is there something wrong?”
