Post Pines is a brand new Swedish ambient pop duo. They make their debut by releasing two songs, Simma, and this sweeping number named Waterfall. Waterfall’s dreamy trenches are filled with deep reflection while its misty soundscape contains vast mountains of emotive beauty. The indietronica song builds on itself majestically, its layers upon layers of dream pop, post-rock, and minimalist electronica creating an effect that is inescapably stirring. This is the sort of music I’d love to take along with me on a panoramic solo hike, where the immensity of nature makes me feel a part of something grand and strangely far less alone than I sometimes feel around people. Coincidentally, Post Pines introduced their debut music by calling it their “first step into the forest”. They hope that this will be a “long hike” and it would be an honor for us to join them. Stream their other debut song, Simma, below. Both tracks are out now on Meraki Force.
