Queen Corrin and King Xander

After they managed to kill the Forgotten Dragon, Corrin and Xander were crowned "Queen Regnant of Valla" and "King of Nohr", respectively.

In the Kingdom of Nohr, Corrin was just a queen consort. This basically means that Corrin was just the wife of the reigning king (Xander), not a monarch/ruler in her own right. However, she did have some influences over Xander by giving him some advices. She also acted as a temporary regent of Nohr when King Xander had to go to other countries for diplomacy.

In her own kingdom (Valla), Corrin was the queen regnant, since she ruled Valla in her own right. Meanwhile, Xander was also crowned "King of Valla", so he could also rule Valla together with Queen Corrin.

Shortly before Corrin was crowned queen, she felt that she still had much to learn from Xander. She also feared that she might lose her sanity one day (since she was the daughter of the mad dragon Anankos). Xander often convinced his beloved wife that she was a good ruler, but Corrin often argued that ruling a kingdom is very different from leading an army. Therefore, it was eventually decided that Xander would be crowned king together with Corrin, so that both of them could rule together.

After Corrin and Xander passed away, their eldest son (Siegbert) inherited the Nohrian and Vallite thrones, thus uniting the two kingdoms in a personal union. This was a political situation where two countries share the same monarch, but their laws and borders remained distinct. After several years, Nohr and Valla would be formally unified into a single kingdom.

Several years later, Siegbert would be succeeded by his own son (Friedrich, which means "Peaceful Ruler") who continued the wise and peaceful reign of Corrin/Xander and Siegbert.
