Quite lengthy, and admittedly I didn't get through the whole thing, however the parts I did watch were quite interesting.  It's worth a quick look.

The host of the video series is a little dull, however he raises a few good points and questions in his interview with Francesca Coppa.

In reading  Francesca Coppa's piece "Women, Star Trek, and the early development of fannish vidding," she begins her piece by describing what vidding is and how it is different from a music video as it "help[s] the viewer to see the source text differently."  This is just an example of how I took her explanation of vidding, enjoy.

this is a video series that goes along with my last post.  It dives into the culture and incredible amount of time that goes into searching for samples, and the pride and technique needed to be a "crate digger."  This episode focuses on a producer and remixer, Just Blaze.  We can see he has an incredible depth of knowledge in his field as he discusses a few of the tens of thousands of vinyls he owns.

the video is a little long, but it focuses on the remix in general, including its foundation in hip-hop.  it discusses how the remix in this musical genre began when funding for schools in lower economic areas dropped so after school programs such as musical classes had to end.  Along with the end of these programs came the end of instruments provided by the schools, so people began to turn house hold objects such as the turntable into instruments.
