thoughts on ducks v wild last night, as someone who's still very new to hockey, in no particular order:
was rooting for dostal since the last ducks game i watched (v penguins) and i haven't watched enough games to determine each team's style well enough to find out if he just dropped the ball or got caught off guard by minnesota. but dostal :(
the anaheim commentators are so aware of how bad the ducks are it's a little hilarious. man our players peaked a few years ago, they're so old now. mintyukov was really great earlier this season but man i think his confidence got shattered or something. anyway let's get to the faceoff
after minnesota's performance last night i am Super excited for next week's game against dallas. i won't be mad if we lose i just know the game would go crazy
the amount of penalties racked up by the wild on complete accident is a little funny
i know how hard aiming a puck can be. the ducks trying to score last night was comical. either aiming directly for the goalie/his glove or straight up behind the net... again i get it. but wow i am impressed they got one
the post-game ducks fan holding up their phone that said "we suck :("
the fight at the end.. i may have missed the finer points of it since i was eating soup but seeing the brawl break out as soon as the period 3 ending horn sounded had me going. what's the point you already lost LMAO also the other players being otherwise chill and just shaking hands. beautiful
i was watching with a friend who has been begging to see a fight since we started watching games together. granted we've been specifically watching ducks games and they seem disinterested in doing anything, let alone aggressively, so this both caught us by surprise AND had us cheering that the gloves were coming off
the 2 north star jerseys in the crowd :) i'm so pleased the minnesota alt ended up being a nod to that
